More than 214 people will benefit from the implementation of 10 thermoelectric plants in Marajó, Pará. In addition, several job vacancies will be generated in the state.
Brasil BioFuels (BBF), a company that operates in sustainable agribusiness in the Amazon, announced the implementation of ten thermoelectric plants to supply a population of ten municipalities from Marajó, in Pará, and will generate several jobs in the place. More than 214 people will benefit from the clean energy produced by the company. Operations are expected to begin in the second half of 2023.
The thermoelectric initiative, which is in the implementation phase, aims to replace the use of fossil diesel oil, which is neither biodegradable nor produced in the State, with biodiesel made from palm oil, produced in the Amazon, biodegradable and renewable. The implementation of the thermoelectric project will also generate jobs in the region, with the hiring of local labor, according to the website The Liberal.
Sustainable development and job creation
With assets in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia and Roraima, BBF focuses on oil palm cultivation, biotechnology, biofuel production and renewable energy generation. In Pará, the Palm planting is concentrated in the municipalities of Concórdia do Pará, Moju, Tomé Açu and Acará, in addition to a soybean training area in Paragominas.

According to the group's CEO, Milton Steagall, the company is leaving the legacy of development with sustainability and social responsibility to the Amazon. “We are proving that it is possible to develop the Amazon without cutting down a single tree. We are generating jobs with thermoelectric plants, bringing clean and sustainable energy to the northern population, making degraded productive areas”, said the executive.
Job creation
The implementation of the ten thermoelectric plants should generate 125 direct jobs and more than 400 indirect jobs. The BBF has already generated more than five thousand direct jobs and almost 15 thousand indirect jobs in Pará with thermoelectric plants. The group also benefited from region with infrastructure and education initiatives, such as the construction of new roads, new bridges, maintenance of more than 600 km of roads connecting communities with urban centers, holding dozens of lectures in schools and technical courses in communities surrounding its projects and now, the construction of 10 thermoelectric plants, which will contribute even more to the generation of jobs in the region.
Next week, Milton Steagall will be participating in an event by the Business Leaders Group (Lide), in New York, which will bring together businessmen and investors from all over the world. The CEO's intention is to present the BBF business model as an opportunity to invest more in the Amazon and Pará. “We are going to present the BBF thermoelectric project outside Brazil, showing the great opportunity we have in the Amazon”, concluded Steagall.
