Chinese manufacturer is a world reference in heavy electric vehicles
A Mining Vale, located in Minas Gerais, will receive 143 heavy electric vehicles that were recently unloaded at the Port of São Francisco do Sul. In total, US$ 20 million will be spent – an amount equivalent to R$ 100 million – in trucks, excavators and electric forklifts.
The vehicles that will be delivered to the mining company are from the Chinese brand XCMG, a world reference among manufacturers of large electric vehicles. Founded in 1943, XCMG is the largest group of companies in the industry of construction machinery in China, with the widest variety and range of products, and the most competitive and influential in the industry.
Electric vehicles will be able to operate all day, without stopping to recharge
With modern technology, electric vehicles have lithium batteries and are capable of operate all day at mining companies, without having to stop to reload. These batteries have a surprising size: they measure 2 meters in height and 2,4 meters in width, being located just behind the cabin of the car.

Heavy equipment with zero emissions that will operate in the iron ore, nickel and copper mining companies, cost an average of US$ 135, or R$ 675. What is most incredible is that they were all brought in a single Chinese ship to the Port of São Francisco do Sul, in Santa Catarina.
Port of São Francisco do Sul is known for the agile and safe transport of machines
“Ports are strategic in our economy and that is why we created the Secretary of State for Ports, Airports and Railways. Santa Catarina is the only state in Brazil with five competitive ports, that can export anywhere in the world and import products to the South and Southeast regions much more quickly than our competitors”, says Governor Jorginho Mello.
According to the president of Porto, Cleverton Vieira, “since it is multimodal, the Port of São Francisco do Sul has the capacity to move high-tech equipment, offering safety and agility in the transport of these more fragile loads”.
“Following the guidance of Governor Jorginho Mello, we are transforming the Port, together with the port operators, offering conditions to be a viable alternative for all types of cargo, in addition to those that are traditionally handled in San Francisco, such as steel, grains and wood” , concludes Vieira.
