Log-In Logística Intermodal invested BRL 60 million in the Log-In Endurance vessel. The Brazilian port cabotage player has ambitious growth plans in the country

As one of the largest Brazilian cabotage and port logistics companies in the country, Log-In Logística Intermodal takes another important step by investing in fleet growth and optimizing its operations in Brazil Argentina (Buenos Aires). Recently, the Log-In Endurance vessel was acquired to serve South Atlantic Service Line (SAS), one of the most important for the company

“The significant investment in one more vessel of its own and also in the hiring of crew members, at such a critical moment, reaffirm Log-In's confidence in the modal and in its capacity to develop Brazilian cabotage navigation”, says Mauricio Alvarenga, Commercial Director by Log-In Logística Intermodal. “Intermodal transport is very strategic, not only at this time, but at any other time, due to its crucial characteristic of keeping the supply chain running. Our sector is united to help society and we see that this is a time for us not to stop”, emphasizes the entrepreneur.

This acquisition is part of the company's business strategy, which kicked off in 2016. The ship has a capacity of 2.800 TEUs and can even transport refrigerated containers. The entire crew will be 100% Brazilian, valuing the national hand and work and technical capacity of our seafarers. So much so that 76 crew members have already been hired who will operate not only on the Log-in Endurace ship, but also on the Login-In Polaris, purchased in 2017 and which began operating in 2019

The purchase of these two container ships (Log-In Endurance and Log-In Polaris) is part of an acquisition plan, which started with the vessel Log-In Resiliente, in 2017. Currently, Log-In Logística Intermodal has a fleet of six own ships, which add up to a capacity of 15.500 TEUs. In addition, it works with chartered vessels that further increase its operational excellence in intermodal transport.

Less impact on the environment

the login Endurance will carry more cargo with less impact on the environment. With an increase of 10% to the capacity of the current ship that will be replaced and an electronic fuel injection system, the main combustion engine burns the bunker more efficiently, generating a reduction in fuel consumption, maintenance and engine life, as well as reducing the emission of sulfur components into the atmosphere. Better customer service and sustainability.

Cabotage is a very promising mode in Brazil, a country that has an extensive navigable coastline of 8.500 kilometers and where the main cities, industrial centers and large consumer centers are concentrated on the coast or in nearby cities. Compared to road and rail transport, in terms of cost, load capacity, reduction in the number of breakdowns and thefts, and also environmental impact, cabotage is the most effective alternative to compose the supply chain of the most diverse sectors.

Aacquisition of Log-In Endurance marks a new phase

“In 2016, we started a restructuring process to solve the company's indebtedness and the low profitability of the business. There were many challenges, including reviewing expenses, selling assets, negotiating debt and reducing the investment plan. the acquisition of Log-In Endurance marks a new phase and will be crucial to support our growth”, emphasizes Alvarenga.

Log-In Logística Intermodal is based in Rio de Janeiro, with eight regional offices (Manaus, Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Santos, São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Buenos Aires); in addition, it has two intermodal terminals, in Guarujá-SP and Itajaí-SC, and a port terminal in Vila Velha-ES. Net revenue in 2019 exceeded 1 billion reais, with a volume of containers transported in the order of 357,8 thousand TEUs, a figure 5,1% higher compared to 2018. Another important milestone was the successful completion, in November 2019 , of the primary public offering of shares, in which Log-In raised the amount of 634 million reais. It is also important to point out that last year, the company reached the historical mark of zero lost-time accidents in its entire fleet.
