Some of the most important experts and authorities in the Brazilian port sector are meeting, on May 2nd and 3rd, at the 1st National Congress on Competition and Regulation in the Port Sector. The event, which will be held at the Mercure Hotel in Balneário Camboriú (SC), will bring professionals and public and private managers to discuss essential topics for the sustainable and competitive development of Brazilian ports.

Strategic Planning, Infrastructure Investments and ESG: Challenges and Solutions will be some of the topics highlighted in the programming's panels and debates. Among the confirmed speakers are Eduardo Nery, director of the National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ); Alexandre Cordeiro Macedo, president of the Administrative Council for the Defense of Competition (Cade); Alexandre de Souza Barreto, General Superintendent of Cade and Luiz Hoffmann, director of the Institute of Studies in Social Sciences (IE) and general organizer of the congress.

Analyzing the challenges and opportunities for the development of port infrastructure, experts will discuss investments in new technologies and the modernization of existing ports. The ESG theme will be one of the main focuses of the congress, with a specific panel dedicated to debating its impacts on the competitiveness of port companies and the challenges of implementation in a complex regulatory environment.

State Participation and Private Investments in the Port Sector

Uncovering Challenges and Opportunities will be another central theme of the event. Experts will debate regulatory and competition challenges, seeking innovative solutions that attract capital and boost port development. To complement the participants' experience, the congress will offer a technical visit to a port in the region. With limited spaces, the immersive visit will provide the opportunity to observe port operations up close and discuss the sector's challenges and opportunities in a real context.
