Several opportunities are open for those who wish to join IF Sudeste MG in the first half of 2025, including new courses and in-person and distance learning modalities!
O Federal Institute of the Southeast of Minas Gerais (IF Southeast MG) announced its newest selective process, with an offer of more than 4.600 free places in technical, undergraduate and postgraduate level courses, distributed across ten mining cities. Among the new features, the Barbacena Campus brings three new technical courses: food integrated into secondary education, events in the concomitant/subsequent modality and agriculture in the distance learning modality.
Vacancies for free courses: types and registration details
Registration is open until November 17th are on the official website of the selection process. Interested candidates can register by logging in through the account GOVERNMENT and should pay attention to the notice, which contains all the guidelines provided. For those who prefer in-person assistance, the participating campuses offer support on specific days and times, also available on the website.

Technical courses, high school and vocational training lasting up to two years, have a registration fee between R$15 and R$25, varying according to the modality, while for undergraduate and graduate , the fee is R$50. It is worth remembering that registration does not imply a monthly fee, since the IF Southeast MG is a public institution. The deadline for payment is November 18th, only at branches and correspondent banks of Banco do Brasil.
Registration fee exemption: see who is eligible
Public school students can request authorization for registration fee between the days 24 31 and October. The benefit is granted to candidates who have completed their elementary or high school education entirely in the public school system, or who have received scholarships from private schools. Candidates who completed high school through Encceja are also eligible. The application is made on the official website of the selection process and requires the submission of academic records as proof.
Competition groups and selection stages of the Federal Institute
The 2025 selection process Federal Institute of Southeast MG follow the new Quota Law (Law 14.273/2023) , which reserves 50% of the places for students who have trained in public schools, with criteria of income, ethnic-racial self-declaration and disability. The selection method varies according to the course: for concomitant or subsequent technical courses, the definition of the classes occurs via public draw em 16 January 2025. Those who opt for integrated technical courses will have an objective test on December 22, with questions on Portuguese language, mathematics, natural sciences, geography and history . Candidates for undergraduate courses will take an objective test and an essay on the same date.
