New job opportunities will be generated through investments made by Toyota, CNH Industrial, CBA and others, in the interior of São Paulo
Some cities in the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, are receiving investments from renowned companies, such as Toyota, CNH Industrial, Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio and Atacadão. Such investments in expanding factories and building a new wholesale group will generate around 3.000 new jobs in the state of São Paulo. Toyota will resume production of the 3rd shift in Sorocaba, in São Paulo
The multinational Toyota announced on 02/09 that it will reopen a third work shift at the factory in Sorocaba, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, starting in January. The Japanese automaker, little affected by the semiconductor crisis, will operate a 24-hour shift, the company will hire 450 employees starting this month. Another 50 jobs will be created in other units of the group and 350 in the supply chain in the region.
As mentioned elsewhere, in an interview with Jornal Cruzeiro do Sul, Toyota Brasil informed on July 6th that it was already studying the possibility of resuming with the 3rd shift at the factory in Sorocaba, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, the from next year. The company at the time had not yet confirmed the possible new jobs to be generated at the factory, but speculation estimated that 400 jobs would be created.

Toyota Brasil said that the company has constantly evaluated the various internal and market scenarios to ensure the sustainability of its operations in the country. And for this reason, it confirms that it is in dialogue with the union to analyze the viability of the third shift at the Sorocaba factory starting in 2022. The number of possible new job openings has not yet been confirmed.
Atacadão will invest BRL 80 million and create 600 jobs
Also in the city of Sorocaba, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, it will receive a new Atacadão supermarket store. Last week, Mayor Rodrigo Manga, alongside secretaries Robson Coivo and Paulo Henrique Marcelo, received a visit from executives from the Atacadão supermarket in his office at Paço Municipal, who announced the construction of the chain's second store. The wholesale group will make an investment of R$ 80 million and around 600 new jobs, both direct and indirect, will be generated.
Mayor Rodrigo Manga says that this is great news for the city of Sorocaba and will certainly be another boost on the path of development and income generation in the municipality. According to the mayor of the city in the interior of São Paulo, they were very happy that the company decided to invest in the opening of its second unit and help to generate so many new jobs in the city.
Also at the meeting, it was highlighted that the city of Sorocaba, in São Paulo, as the fourth best city in the Americas to invest in, has already been advancing in the generation of jobs since the beginning of the year. In the first seven months of 2021, the city recorded twice as many jobs created, compared to the same period last year.
CBA will make a contribution to expand its factory
CBA – Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio, announced that it will invest around R$ 2 billion with the implementation of new projects in the Aluminum plant, in the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba, in the state of São Paulo. The announcement was made by the CEO of CBA, Ricardo Carvalho, in a press conference, about the new moment of the company of the Votorantim group.
According to Ricardo, most of the investments of around R$ 2 billion in the Alumínio plant will be raised through the company's share offering on the market, which should generate jobs and increase production. “During the implementation of new projects both at CBA and at Metalex, which is located in Araçariguama, approximately 1,7 jobs should be generated, and after the completion of the projects around 350 permanent jobs”, highlights the CEO of CBA.
The investments include, in addition to jobs, the expansion, renovation and modernization of the aluminum production furnace lines, as well as the updating of the technology used in the production line. “The factory had 7 production lines, the so-called ovens, but two lines had been stopped since the 2014 energy crisis, and now we are going to reactivate them, which should increase production”, highlights Carvalho.
