860 new jobs will be created in Recife with the arrival of another Amazon distribution center

The new Amazon distribution center in Recife was built and leased by the company Armazzena, generating hundreds of jobs for Pernambuco residents  

The multinational Amazon, one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world, announced this Tuesday (5th) that it will open a new distribution center in Brazil. The Amazon Distribution Center will be located in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in the metropolitan region of Recife. It is estimated that, in all, around 860 jobs will be created for Recife and nearby regions.

The distribution center was built and leased by Armazzena, a company from Pernambuco led by entrepreneur Gerson Lucena. The Amazon distribution center building in Recife will follow all health safety protocols against the coronavirus. According to Ricardo Pagani, director of operations for Amazon in Brazil, the Northeast region is of great commercial importance for the company and precisely for this reason Amazon will inaugurate its second distribution center, in Recife.

Amazon invests heavily in Brazil and generates jobs for more than 6,3 people

Amazon has 13 internal groups that work on affinity issues, that is, they bring together company employees around the world to work on topics that are socially relevant, to make the work environment safer and more inclusive.

In this way, all Amazon employees responsible for all areas, including distribution centers, end up positively committing to diversity, equity and inclusion, respecting the particularities of each one.

Furthermore, the well-being of Amazon employees goes beyond affinity issues. The company decided that it will implement an air conditioning system in all Distribution Centers in Brazil, already thinking about greater comfort and a better climate for the more than 6,3 people who work in these centers. The Recife distribution center will be inaugurated with this complete system.

Dealing with the pandemic

According to Amazon, operations at the new distribution center in Recife have all the health security protocols against the coronavirus, permanently and operatively, with the aim of obtaining health solutions quickly, effectively and safely, for the good of being of its employees.

Since the beginning of the global pandemic, Amazon has prioritized the health and well-being of its employees. At its headquarters around the world, Amazon has carried out more than 150 changes in its distribution centers, in an attempt to minimize the impacts of the coronavirus, in addition to ensuring the safety of its employees, such as social distancing, the use of masks, gloves, intensification of service. of cleaning and cleaning processes and sanitization of the environment.

In this new distribution center alone, around 860 direct and indirect jobs will be generated. With the inauguration of the distribution center in Recife, the company predicts that, until the Black Friday and Christmas seasons, they will employ more than 6,3 people, in addition to creating thousands of other temporary job openings.
