Mystery in China! Porsche Carrera GT abandoned at dealership for over a decade – Why doesn’t anyone claim it?
Imagine finding a trio of abandoned, dust-covered supercars in a forgotten dealership. This is the scene that YouTuber Effspot came across, revealing a Porsche Carrera GT, a Ferrari Superamerica and a Chevrolet Corvette Z06, all left at the mercy of the time.
But how did such high-value vehicles end up in such a sorry state? Let’s explore the mystery and understand why these automotive gems ended up like this.
Effspot, who is famous for documenting his adventures in search of rare cars, began his journey in a shopping mall in a remote area of China. There, he found a Pagani Zonda Cinque – one of only five examples in the world, on display with little security, which allowed the YouTuber to capture detailed footage of the supercar.

Abandoned cars in China besides Porsche
Already enchanted by his discovery, he headed to the Dream Powers Model Factory, a place where scale models of luxury cars – from Rolls-Royces to Porsches – are displayed in exquisite detail. However, the highlight of his adventure was to come at the mysterious abandoned dealership.
Upon entering the old dealership, Effspot found three vehicles covered in a thick layer of dust. The presence of fallen roof tiles, faded photos and other remnants of a bygone era contributed to the atmosphere of neglect and abandonment. Among the treasures found, the Porsche Carrera GT stood out as the most valuable piece.
Equipped with a 10-liter V5.7 engine and 603 horsepower, this car is coveted by collectors and has a market value that easily exceeds US$ 1 million. However, having been parked for so long, it needs a complete service, which would not be cheap.
On the Porsche side, there's the Ferrari Superamerica, a different version of the 575M model, which in itself is an evolution of the iconic 550 Maranello. This unique model features a retractable roof and altered rear styling, which makes it even more special for Ferrari aficionados.
In its manual configuration, the Superamerica becomes extremely rare and valuable, further increasing its potential dealership value. Finally, in contrast to the European models, a Corvette Z06, in bright yellow, completes the trio. Although it has a lower market value than the Porsche and Ferrari, the Corvette is also a coveted sports car, especially in North America.
History of the dealership
But what could lead a dealership to abandon such important vehicles? One of the most talked-about theories among enthusiasts is that the establishment closed its doors in the early 2010s, possibly as a result of anti-corruption laws that affected several businesses in the country. However, this hypothesis remains uncertain, and the true story behind the dealership's closure remains shrouded in mystery.
For car enthusiasts, the state of neglect of these machines is almost sacrilege. It is difficult to understand how cars that are dream cars were left to the mercy of dust and weather conditions, when they could be in the hands of collectors or on the road.
The situation is even more intriguing when you consider that the value of these cars continues to increase over the years. In the collectors’ market, a proper restoration could easily bring these vehicles back to life – and attract million-dollar bids at auction.
Rediscovering the Shine: The Abandoned 1988 Ferrari Testarossa That Came Back to Life
Imagine passing by a rare car every day, an abandoned classic that still retains all the aura of luxury and power. That's exactly what happened in Puerto Rico, where a 1988 Ferrari Testarossa sat idle for an astonishing 17 years, awaiting an uncertain future. Its owner refused to sell it, even though the vehicle was parked in front of his house, gathering dust and being forgotten by everyday life.
That’s when Puerto Rican YouTuber Leonardo Junel stepped in. In July 2020, he shared the first video of his incredible mission to restore this machine. The series of videos became a hit, leading car enthusiasts and curious people to follow each step of a transformation that rescued not only the appearance, but also the essence of the car.
The restoration was meticulous. The original paintwork, the iconic “Rosso Corsa”, was restored after hours of sanding and preparation. The interior was stripped down, with parts ordered to ensure every detail was impeccable. Crucial items such as the timing belt, water pump and tires were replaced, all to ensure the safety and performance of a true Ferrari.
Today, the Testarossa is back on the streets, a true masterpiece reborn, reminding us of the value of rescuing and preserving historic pieces.

Why would it be, right, the Porsche Carrera GT that took Bryan's life, a very dangerous and problematic car?
Paul died in a 918 that has nothing to do with this car, except for also being a Porsche.
It really was a GT race. Luis, you don't have to believe me, you can check it out and you'll see! May Bryan rest in peace. It's a shame because a car like this without control is complicated.
