Jaguaruana is expected to receive national attention with the Kroma Energia initiative. The expectation is that 800 to 1000 job openings will be created.
Ceará is preparing to gain new momentum in the sector renewable energy. Kroma Energia has begun construction of the Arapuá Photovoltaic Complex in Jaguaruana, a city located in the Jaguaribe Valley. The expectation is that hundreds of direct and indirect jobs will be created.
With an investment of R$800 million, the project also promises to transform the state's energy landscape.
New solar complex boosts local economy
The cornerstone of the Arapuá Photovoltaic Complex was officially laid, marking the beginning of a project that aims to transform Jaguaruana into a solar energy generation hub. According to Kroma Energia, the project is expected to generate between 800 and 1000 jobs direct and indirect, which promises to benefit the local economy and attract investment to the region.

Rodrigo Mello, CEO of Kroma Energia, highlighted the importance of this project for the city of Jaguaruana, highlighting that the complex has been under construction for more than five years.
“The city of Jaguaruana will continue to develop, generating more jobs and income for the region. This project will bring together the best and most modern technologies in the sector,” said Mello.
With an installed capacity of 250 MWp and an estimated annual production of 537 GWh, the Arapuá Photovoltaic Complex will be able to supply more than 290 thousand homes annually. Kroma Energia is committed to a sustainable energy generation model, in line with global trends in energy transition and the search for cleaner and more renewable energy sources.
Strategic partnerships and investments in the energy future of Ceará
The project relies not only on Kroma Energia's expertise, but also on the partnership of renowned companies that will contribute to the construction and operation of the complex. WEG, one of the leaders in equipment for the energy sector, is also involved in the project.
Harry Schmelzer Neto, director of WEG, commented on the importance of the project for the energy transition in Brazil, highlighting the social role that the initiative fulfills, in addition to its positive environmental impact.
“The initiative encompasses several factors that fill us with pride. Here is our best team, best equipment, to make this project a reference”, stated Schmelzer Neto, emphasizing the innovation and quality of the partnership.
Another important ally in financing the project is Banco do Nordeste (BNB), which contributed 80% of the resources needed for the development of the Photovoltaic Complex. Eliane Brasil, superintendent of BNB, highlighted the importance of the bank in supporting sustainable and clean energy projects in Brazil.
“The bank, yes, is the clean energy bank and we want to be involved in projects like this. It will change the Brazilian market, I have no doubt,” he said.
New job openings will be opened by Kroma Energia
With the solar complex expected to begin commercial operations in the first quarter of 2026, Kroma Energia is preparing to boost not only the energy sector, but also the local economy of Jaguaruana and the Jaguaribe Valley.
The forecast of creating up to 1000 direct and indirect jobs will be a determining factor for the development of the region, bringing new opportunities for local residents, mainly in the areas of construction, operation and maintenance of the photovoltaic complex.
In addition, the project will have a positive impact on the city's infrastructure, with investments in transportation, supply of materials and services. The jobs created should also benefit adjacent areas, such as commerce and services, which will accompany the growth in demand in the region.
Ceará, with its favorable climate conditions and expanding infrastructure, will further consolidate itself as a renewable energy hub in the coming years. The Kroma Energia project also has the collaboration of Goener, a company specialized in developing renewable energy generation solutions.
With this, the Arapuá Complex will be a true showcase for cutting-edge technologies in the solar sector, establishing a model to be followed by future initiatives in the country. In addition to the direct benefits in terms of clean energy generation, the Arapuá Complex also aligns with the national agenda of sustainability and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
