Aiming to take advantage of the high energy production potential by using natural gas as the base of the plants, Âmbar Energia invested R$ 900 million in four thermoelectric plants in Cuiabá and will inaugurate them this month.

The energy transition scenario in Brazil is getting bigger and bigger and Âmbar Energia, a subsidiary of J&F, continues this Tuesday, (12/07), with its investment plan in energy based on natural gas in the country. For this, the company invested R$ 900 million in the construction of four natural gas thermoelectric plants in Cuiabá, in the state of Mato Grosso, and will inaugurate the structures this month.

Four new natural gas thermoelectric plants will be inaugurated by Âmbar Energia in the state of Mato Grosso after an investment of R$ 900 million

Âmbar Energia, a subsidiary of the J&F group focused on the energy sector and energy transition in Brazil, made another millionaire investment in this segment and invested R$ 900 million for the construction of four new natural gas thermoelectric plants. The structures were built in Cuiabá, in the state of Mato Grosso, and should be inaugurated this July, in order to start producing energy as soon as possible.

Furthermore, the company pointed out that, when added together, the four natural gas thermoelectric plants guarantee a total of 326 megawatts of power, a very high number for the company's energy use. In addition, Âmbar Energia gave more details about the plants and stated that they are being completed alongside the Mário Covas Thermoelectric Power Plant, which is already part of the subsidiary of the J&F group.

In this way, not only does Âmbar Energia guarantee an expansion in the energy sector in Brazil, but it also contributes to the socioeconomic growth of the state of Mato Grosso. This is because the park in Cuiabá is now the company's largest and one of the largest in the country in terms of natural gas power generation capacity, with a total of 855 MW.

New natural gas thermoelectric plants by Âmbar Energia are part of the plan to guarantee the safety of the National Interconnected Energy System

Âmbar Energia's presence in the state of Mato Grosso is growing and, in the territory of the Cuiabá park, the company's largest in Brazil, the complex It has its own 645-kilometer gas pipeline connecting the complex directly to the reserves in Bolivia, Brazil's largest gas supplier. In this way, the company guarantees much more agility and efficiency in the transport of natural gas for energy production, with the investment in this structure.

In addition, the company highlighted that the millionaire investment in the construction of new natural gas power plants in the state was carried out with a focus on meeting the 2021 emergency auction, which provided for the contracting of energy in the reserve mode. Thus, the thermoelectric plants will contribute to guarantee more security to the National Interconnected Energy System in the national territory.

Finally, Âmbar Energia highlighted that the period for carrying out the supply of energy contracts runs from this year 2022 until the end of 2025, around the month of December.
