Despite the seizure of illegal products on Amazon and Mercado Livre, both companies have strict policies against the sale of illegal products. The platforms have systems in place to verify the origin of items sold by third parties and claim to collaborate with authorities to prevent the sale of illegal products.
Companies did not comment on Anatel's action
However, companies are not exempt from this type of action, especially during periods of high activity, such as Black Friday, where the number of active ads and sellers grows exponentially.
Amazon, for example, was fined R$47 for allowing advertisements for unapproved devices, such as security cameras and TV Boxes, one of the most sought-after products for those who can't do without a series or streaming channels.
However, the company appealed the decision and emphasized its commitment to complying with Brazilian regulatory requirements. It is worth mentioning that, to date, neither company has commented on the incident. However, the space remains open if they wish to present their version of events. All telecommunications products sold in Brazil must be approved by Anatel.
