Brazil has a unique opportunity to attract industries and reindustrialize with clean energy
Brazil has the 'opportunity of the century' to reindustrialize itself through clean energy, according to Lucas Araripe, executive director of Casa dos Ventos.
The company sees the possibility of attracting industries that demand a lot of energy, such as aluminum, steel, fertilizers and data centers, to the country, due to the need for these companies to meet decarbonization targets.
Currently, more than 80% of Brazil's energy matrix comes from renewable sources, such as solar plants and wind farms.

Casa dos Ventos mapped more than 1.200 points across Brazil to locate areas with favorable winds for the installation of wind farms.
The company has both wind and solar energy projects, including a hybrid model in which large wind turbines share space with solar panels.
Transaction with TotalEnergies
Casa dos Ventos signed a joint venture valued at R$12,6 billion with TotalEnergies last year.
The transaction does not include the joint development of offshore wind energy projects, which, according to the executive director, does not make economic sense for Brazilian companies at the moment.
Earnings and future plans
Casa dos Ventos sees important gains after the transaction, including a reduction in costs with guarantees and spreads, in addition to accessing TotalEnergies' client portfolio to pursue new power generation projects.
The company plans to move towards the production of 'green' fuels, such as methanol and hydrogen, which require large amounts of clean energy.
Casa dos Ventos reported a turnover of BRL 358,1 million in 2022, a growth of 7,6% compared to the previous year.
