Up 74,4% in February
In February alone, Brazil received US$9,3 billion in direct investment. It was the highest amount for the month since 2022 and represents an increase of 74,4% compared to February 2024. The record for February remains that of 2011, with US$10,3 billion.
According to the Central Bank, February's result consisted of US$5,6 billion in equity participation in companies and US$3,7 billion in intercompany transactions. These transactions involve transfers of funds between subsidiaries and headquarters of multinational companies.
12-month accumulated total exceeds US$ 72 billion
The accumulated IDP in 12 months reached US$ 72,5 billion, corresponding to 3,38% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This value was US$ 68,5 billion in January 2025 and was US$ 64,6 billion in February of the previous year.
For the entire year of 2025, financial agents project a total of US$ 70 billion in direct investments, according to the Focus Bulletin. In 2024, the volume recorded was US$ 71,1 billion.
