Agronorte announces investment in construction of new feed factory in Alvorada, after change of plans, and expands production in Tocantinópolis.

A Agronorte, one of the largest agribusiness companies in northern Brazil, has announced a change in its expansion plans. The feed mill, which was to be built in Gurupi, Tocantins, will now be built in Alvorada, in the same region. This change was made due to a decision by the Gurupi city government, which reduced the area of land that would be donated to the company. With the change, Agronorte plans to invest R$15 million to expand its existing unit in Tocantinópolis, which already operates in the state. This decision reflects Agronorte's commitment to ensuring the capacity to meet the growing demand for feed.

City Hall decision and new construction site

The construction of the factory in Gurupi, initially budgeted at R$70 million, was announced in May, together with investments of R$55 million in two storage units.

However, the reduction in available area led Agronorte to look for a new location for construction. Vinícius Carvalho, the company's director, explained that the minimum requirement was 60 square meters, but the city government offered only 40.

In Alvorada, the company will have access to a 100 square meter plot of land, which will provide better conditions for the construction of the new feed factory.

The move to Alvorada will also allow Agronorte to have a larger space for its operations.

The feed factory that is being planned will have the necessary infrastructure to meet the growing market demand for animal nutrition products.

With this new space, Agronorte will be able to expand its production and diversify the feed options it offers to its customers.

Increase in Agronorte production in Tocantinópolis

The delay in the construction of the new factory in Alvorada will make Agronorte expand production in Tocantinópolis.

The unit's feed production capacity will be increased from 12 to 24 tons per month.

This expansion is a direct response to the growing demand for feed in the market, which has grown between 20% and 25% per year.

Carvalho highlighted that Agronorte's current operations are no longer sufficient to meet orders, which makes expanding production in Tocantinópolis a priority.

Agronorte is known for its ability to adapt to market needs, and this expansion is a reflection of that commitment.

With increased production in Tocantinópolis, the company will be able to meet growing demand and ensure that its customers receive the feed necessary to nourish their animals.

The focus on producing quality feed is fundamental for Agronorte, which always seeks to offer the best to its customers.

Agronorte's future expectations and market needs

The new unit in Alvorada, it should take three to four years to be completed, with a production capacity of 15 thousand tons per month.

The factory will produce feed for different types of animals, including fish, dogs, beef and dairy cattle, poultry, pigs and horses.

This diversity of products reflects Agronorte’s strategy of serving different market segments.

Carvalho also highlighted that the North region of Brazil has few companies dedicated to feed production, despite the growth in livestock activity.

The demand for animal nutrition is high, and Agronorte is well positioned to serve this expanding market.

With the construction of the new feed factory in Alvorada and the expansion of the unit in Tocantinópolis, the company is preparing to face the challenges of the market.

Furthermore, with the increase in animal production and the growing demand for raw materials such as soybeans and corn, Agronorte is investing in improvements to its storage structure.

The company is expanding its infrastructure in Açailândia (MA) and building a new silo in Bom Jesus (TO). These improvements are essential to ensure the efficiency of operations and the availability of raw materials needed for feed production.
