The Brazilian Navy opens registrations for a new public competition soon. There are hundreds of vacancies for the secondary level competition available in various locations across the country.

The Brazilian Navy published this Thursday (14) its newest notice for a mid-level competition for admission to the Apprentice-Sailors Schools (EAMs). Registrations will begin to be accepted on January 29th of next year and the public competition offers 600 places, distributed among 504 for men and 96 for women.

Candidates for the Brazilian Navy's public examination must have completed or are in the process of completing the third year of high school, in addition to being aged between 18 and 21 years old, completed by June 30, 2025.

Other requirements required by the Navy for its vacancies are: be born or naturalized Brazilian of both sexes, have no children or dependents, are not married or have not formed a stable union, due to incompatibility with the regime required for training, have not failed due to insufficient grade or for disciplinary misconduct incompatible with military status, previously in C-FMN.

Lasting 48 weeks, the sailor training course is taught, under an internship regime, at the Apprentice-Sailors Schools (EAMs) located in Fortaleza (CE), Recife (PE), Vitória (ES) and Florianópolis (SC) .

During the training period, those approved in the Brazilian Navy's mid-level competition have a starting salary of R$ 1.303,90, plus uniform, food and medical-dental, social, psychological and religious assistance.

After graduation, the salary increases to R$2.294,50. It is important to highlight that, when registering, in addition to listing the order of preference by municipality, candidates can choose one among three professional areas available for specialization within the Armed Forces: electronics, support or mechanics.

The inscriptions start on January 29th and can be received until February 18th, at 23:59 pm Brasília time, by filling out an electronic form available on the Brazilian Navy website. The fee is R$40.

The deadline for those who plan to request free assistance will be open until February 2nd (by post) and February 5th (in person). The notice provides for exemption from payment for people who meet one of the following conditions:

  • They are bone marrow donors in entities recognized by the Ministry of Health.
  • They are part of a family registered in the federal government's Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico).

Selection process for vacancies in the Brazilian Navy

Scheduled for April 13th, the objective test for the public tender vacancies It will require solving 50 multiple-choice questions on Portuguese, physics, mathematics, chemistry and English. Tests will be administered in all regions of Brazil:

  • Manaus (AM);
  • Belo Horizonte (MG);
  • Olinda (PE);
  • Fortaleza (EC);
  • Sao Luis (MA);
  • Ladarium (MS);
  • Florianopolis (SC);
  • São Paulo and Santos (SP);
  • Natal, RN);
  • Salvador BA);
  • Vila Velha (ES);
  • Rio Grande and Porto Alegre (RS);
  • Brasilia DF);
  • Bethlehem (PA);
  • Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, Nova Friburgo and São Pedro da Aldeia (RJ).

The other phases of the Brazilian Navy's mid-level competition include delivery of documents, health inspection, psychological assessment and physical fitness test, which must be carried out with running and swimming, between the months of June and August. The start of the course is scheduled for January 27, 2025.
