Brazilian companies and industries have already invested more than BRL 32 billion in photovoltaic systems for their own generation of solar energy, according to a survey carried out by Bonö Fotovoltaico.
Based on official data from ANEEL, the engineering and project company for solar energy generation for the corporate market, reported that there are more than 226 Photovoltaic systems installed on roofs and small plots of land to produce clean electricity in factories, trade and service companies across the country.
Solar energy systems add up to more than 6,3 GW of installed power for own energy generation in companies and industries, with projects that are in operation in all regions of Brazil.
Photovoltaic technology is also present in around five thousand municipalities in the corporate environment.
For the CEO of Grupo Bonö, Marcelo Abuhamad, the own generation of solar energy strengthens sustainability and corporate leadership in the so-called ESG agenda. This also increases the competitiveness of Brazilian productive sectors, with more sustainable and profitable operations.
- Offshore electricity: Project with incentive for COAL in Brazil could cost R$595 billion and increase electricity bills by 11%
- Surprising breakthrough in solar energy! New molecule stores energy for months, creating a revolutionary solution that enables energy use at night and during winter
- New government law threatens renewable energy sector in Brazil, potentially affecting 1,8 THOUSAND jobs and causing losses of R$200 MILLION per year
- The end of solar panels? With the price of a cell phone, a new residential wind turbine generates 150 kWh of energy for your home, rain or shine, has a useful life of 20 years and promises to revolutionize energy generation in the world
In addition, Abuhamad points out that even with the new rules for consumers with solar energy that came into force in April, the installation of photovoltaic systems remains attractive and advantageous for companies that want to invest in technology. The CEO also adds that the main challenge that top management currently faces is the situation of the global economy, which makes most businessmen around the world believe in an economic slowdown in the coming years.
Brazil is one of the optimistic countries regarding the future
Abuhamad stated that most businessmen he knows are already taking steps to reduce carbon emissions and economic volatility in 2023. This includes the strategy of investing in renewable energy, particularly solar, which provides a better payback than most conventional financial investments.
Investing in own generation of solar energy is an important way for companies to reduce their carbon footprint, contributing to the protection of the environment. Photovoltaic technology can also generate savings in electric bills, increasing business competitiveness. Companies and industries are increasingly interested in adopting sustainable practices, not only for their role in environmental protection, but also for the competitive advantage they can bring in an increasingly environmentally conscious market.
With the growing need to seek renewable energy sources, the perspective is that solar energy will continue to be attractive to Brazilian companies and industries in the coming years. The country has great potential to take advantage of sun energy, with high solar radiation and a large number of sunny days per year. This is an important opportunity for companies and industries to increase their sustainability and operational efficiency, in addition to contributing to the growth of a cleaner economy.
