The businessman known as the “Brazilian Elon Musk” promises an electric car that travels 1.000 km on 33 liters of fuel. With an investment of R$870 million, he plans to build a factory to manufacture the automobile.
Have you ever heard of the “Brazilian Elon Musk”? A bold businessman who promises to transform the country's automotive market with an innovative proposal.
In times where the automobile industry is increasingly looking for sustainable and economical alternatives, Flávio Figueiredo Assis, owner of Lecar, announced an audacious project: an electric sedan with a range extender that, according to him, will be able to travel 1.000 km with just over 33 liters of fuel.
The investment planned for this venture, which aims to shake up the Brazilian automotive market, reaches impressive R $ million 870. However, the big question is: will this promise become reality or will it just remain in the field of ideas?
- Sony and Honda have joined forces to create an ultra-tech electric sedan with two motors and a range of up to 700 km
- 24-karat gold! Man spent a fortune to gild his Tesla Cybertruck and decides to sell it shortly after
- Brazil in crisis: no one wants to buy a new car, parking lots are full and sales are plummeting
- Toyota Corolla Cross 2.0 FLEX 2022 stands out for its durability and economy, with a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine with 177 hp and average consumption reaching 13,5 km/l on gasoline
The Lecar 459 project
The Lecar 459, the name given to the vehicle in question, has not yet passed the virtual projections phase. Despite this, Assis's plan goes beyond just designing cars.
The businessman promises to build a factory in Sooretama, Espírito Santo, around 120 km from Vitória, the state capital, to produce the sedan. The factory is expected to open in August 2026, and the plant will have a built area of 100 thousand m², capable of producing up to 120 thousand cars per year.
Comparing it to other large factories in Brazil, such as Honda's in Itirapina (SP), which has similar production capacity, Assis' project seems ambitious, but he is clear in stating that the investment, despite being lower than that of other automakers, , it's totally doable.
"I'm not embarrassed to announce an investment well below that of other automakers, because ours is feasible. We see manufacturers announcing billions and billions, but we don't see this in practice”, said Assis, as published by the Auto Esporte website.
The financing challenges
Even with the confidence shown by Assis, the project is still looking for sources of financing. Of the R $ million 870 necessary, R $ million 240 would be used for the construction of facilities and R $ million 630 to assembly line automation. Part of this capital will come from entrepreneurs, while another part still depends on negotiations with public and private investment banks.
Lecar states that the new factory should generate around 1.500 direct jobs and another 3.000 indirect jobs, numbers that highlight the relevance of the project not only for the company, but also for the local economy.
Features of the Lecar 459
The Lecar 459 stands out for its promising technical specifications. Equipped with two engines, one of which is a 1.0 three-cylinder turbo flex engine from Horse, a joint venture between Renault and Geely, the sedan offers 122 horsepower e 22,4 kgfm of torque. This engine only acts as a generator to power the rear electric motor. 163 cv e 26,3 kgfm, the same used in the Kardian model.
The mechanical set allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10,9 seconds. Powered by a battery 18,4 kWh, the electric motor can provide a range of up to 100 km in 100% electric mode. However, with the help of the range extender, the forecast is that the car will be able to run up to 1.000 km on a single charge and just over 33 liters of fuel.
design and comfort
Although the Lecar 459 is still just a concept, the vehicle's design is already attracting attention. The front of the car features tapered headlights and the absence of a grille, a feature that may be changed in the final version due to the presence of the combustion engine. At the rear, the sedan sports a coupe style, with lights that cut across the rear from end to end.
With 4,35 meters long, 1,82 m wide e 1,52 m height, the Lecar 459 promises space and comfort for its occupants. The trunk has capacity for 530 liters, and the vehicle will come equipped with an advanced technology package, including the Adas system, which offers adaptive cruise control, emergency braking assistant, lane keeping system and blind spot warning.
Future still uncertain
Despite all the promises and enthusiasm of Flávio Figueiredo Assis, the “Brazilian Elon Musk”, the future of the Lecar 459 is still uncertain.
The automobile industry is known for its complex challenges, ranging from financial viability to market acceptance. However, if Assis' project comes to fruition, it could usher in a new era for electric vehicles in Brazil.
Now, the question remains: does the Lecar 459 really have the potential to revolutionize the Brazilian market, or are we facing yet another audacious project that will never get off the ground?
The media continues to inexplicably give space to this tremendous scam... this time, at least, they got a design from someone who knows how to use CAD, lol
If you were an American you would give credit

Wouldn't it be Hybrid in this case??

CPG articles are always in se, se, se, seeeeeeee.
I'll only believe it when I see it, but I really hope this project happens in real life.
