“With a careful selection, the initiative of Mota-Engil and IF-CECPLP will run with a training and qualification program in the workers' country of origin, facilitating their social and professional integration in Portugal, thus contributing to the fight against irregular and risky immigration and with a view to resolving the need for workers in the Civil Construction sector in Portugal”, reads the note sent to the É@GORA newspaper.

With the aim of contributing “also to regular and integrated immigration”, Mota-Engil states that the initiative for training, qualifying and hiring CPLP Workers for Portuguese territory “aims to create job opportunities in Portugal for foreign workers, namely of the CPLP, promoting cooperation and promotion of the Portuguese language”.

To materialize this objective, a reception ceremony will be held on the last 20th of July, Wednesday, at the Mota-Engil Shipyard in Porto Alto, for the new Guinean workers hired under this programme.

The following took part in the presentation between Mota-Engil and IF-CECPLP: the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Francisco André; the Secretary of State for Labour, Miguel Fontes; the Executive Secretary of the CPLP, Zacarias da Costa; and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mota-Engil Group, António Mota.
