Steel revolution: graphene and sustainable steel transform the national industry
A CSN and WEG joined forces to develop sustainable steel, incorporating innovative graphene into its production. Following successful laboratory testing, companies are now preparing to carry out industrial-scale testing by the end of 2023 to determine the economic viability of this process. Replacing traditional chromium with graphene in the resin used in steel production not only makes the process more sustainable, but also gives the final product greater physical resistance and durability. This initiative not only offers the potential to improve the quality of steel products, but also opens up new market opportunities, with possible applications in the automotive and construction sectors.
