Blue Marine Telecom completes important stage of submarine project

A Blue Marine Telecom reached a crucial milestone by completing, in October, the Desktop Study (DTS), the initial study for the implementation of the Submarine Optical Mesh in the Campos Basin. This strategic project involves the installation of approximately 800 km of underwater optical cables, connecting two land stations to 12 offshore oil and gas exploration and production units. The start of field activities is scheduled for the first half of 2024, marking a significant step in the telecommunications and energy sector.

Technical details and strategic planning

The DTS, a key element for the success of the installation, delineates the route to the main ring of the optical mesh, ensuring efficient connection between the platforms and land bases. This study thoroughly details the characteristics of the route, focusing on safe and effective engineering solutions for cable installation. Furthermore, it addresses the amount of material required, ensuring that all technical aspects are meticulously planned.

The implementation of this Submarine Optical Mesh is expected to be completed by mid-2025. Included in the project is the construction of a “landing station” in Anchieta, Espírito Santo, and the expansion of another station in Barra do Furado, Quissamã, in Rio de Janeiro. January. Blue Marine Telecom, an integral part of the Zmax Blueship Group, stands out as the only Brazilian group that combines navigation logistics and advanced engineering solutions, reinforcing its position as a pioneer and innovator in the sector.

Impact and future perspectives

This project not only strengthens the telecommunications infrastructure in the Campos Basin region, but also plays a fundamental role in the efficiency and safety of oil and gas exploration operations. The optical mesh will guarantee high-speed and reliable communication between offshore platforms and onshore stations, a significant technological advance for the sector.

Successful completion of DTS by Blue Marine Telecom demonstrates the company's commitment and competence in contributing to technological advancement in the area of telecommunications and energy. With the start of installations scheduled for 2024 and completion in 2025, this project marks an important step towards modernization and efficiency in offshore operations, consolidating the Campos Basin as a focal point in subsea technological development.
