Beyond its parks wind farms already existing ones, Casa dos Ventos intends to add 1 GW of photovoltaic solar energy in the coming years, forming hybrid plants and strengthening its presence in the clean energy e sustainable energy.
The rise of renewable energy in the Brazilian energy market
The partnership between Comerc Eficiência and Casa dos Ventos improved corporate governance and strengthened the company's competitiveness, intensifying the pace of growth and providing technical and knowledge synergies. Lucas Araripe, executive director of Casa dos Ventos, highlighted that this set of factors increases the company's differentiation as a protagonist of the energy transition in Brazil.
- New technology converts carbon dioxide into methane fuel
- China plans to collect solar energy in space and send it back to Earth
- Green hydrogen gains momentum in São Paulo: State invests R$32 million in innovative center to lead the fight against emissions and boost clean energy
- Petrobras invests heavily in Brazil's sustainable future, with US$4,3 billion for solar and wind energy, part of an ambitious US$111 billion plan by 2029!
In addition to wind and solar, the company is investing in the production of green hydrogen and derivatives, associated with the generation of clean and sustainable energy.
Photovoltaic solar energy and hybrid plants highlighted
The most advanced project at Casa dos Ventos is the production of hydrogen and green ammonia in the Pecém Industrial Complex, in Pernambuco, aimed at the international market. Being carried out in partnership with Comerc Eficiência, the project will have a capacity of up to 2,4 GW of electrolysis to produce more than a thousand tons of hydrogen per day and 2,2 million tons of green ammonia per year. It is scheduled to begin operating in 2026.
According to Araripe, the company is studying projects in the domestic market, mainly aimed at the steel and fertilizer sectors.
Global expansion and operations in emerging markets
The cost of generating renewables in Brazil and the sustainable nature of the electrical system position the company globally competitively, expanding its operations to decarbonize other geographies that do not have natural resources on a scale, said Araripe.
Casa dos Ventos has a portfolio of 30 GW of renewable projects under development, which allows it to sustain growth in the coming years, driven by the expansion of the free energy market.
Both with the sale of energy and structured operations, carbon credits and International REC Standard (I-REC) certificates, and as a retail trader, the company is consolidating its role as a pioneer and leader in the renewable energy sector.
