The new electric car that turns into a helicopter has not yet been released, but new technology promises to revolutionize the sustainable mobility sector
Chinese company Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) has taken a bold step into the future of mobility by introducing the Gove, an all-electric, autonomous vehicle that can transform from car to helicopter in a matter of seconds. This technology breakthrough promises to open up new possibilities in personal transportation, according to the Olhar Digital website.
The Gove is a compact electric helicopter vehicle, weighing just 390 kilograms, and is designed to transport a single person. Its structure is divided into two parts: one that keeps the tires on the ground, in car mode, and another that can take off, transforming itself into a helicopter.
In electric car mode, the propellers, which resemble those of a drone, are retracted, while in helicopter mode, they protrude and the cockpit detaches from the wheeled chassis. Surprisingly, the cockpit has no steering wheel or pedals, being controlled via a tablet.

The technology present in the electric car/helicopter
The main objective of the technology used in the Gove electric helicopter car is to reduce the weight of the vehicle, guaranteeing greater autonomy. According to the CEO of GAC, Wu Jian, the helicopter car has the capacity to travel up to 460 kilometers in land mode and fly for up to 200 kilometers without the need to recharge.
Although the company has not disclosed the number of units manufactured of the electric helicopter vehicle, it is expected that regulatory clearance for sale in China will not take long to happen, allowing Gove will be commercially available soon. The price of the hybrid helicopter-vehicle has not yet been announced.
The introduction of Gove to the market represents a major achievement for the automotive and aviation industry, demonstrating the impressive strides being made in the search for more efficient, sustainable and innovative transport solutions.
Revolution in the electric mobility sector
While some regulatory challenges still need to be overcome, the Gove electric car demonstrates the potential to transform the way we travel, offering the possibility to longer flyovers and opening up new routes to destinations that previously seemed inaccessible.
With its futuristic design and dual functionality, the electric Gove is sure to catch the eye of technology enthusiasts and people wanting to experience a new form of personal transportation. It remains to be seen how this innovative technology will be received and what other opportunities will emerge in the mobility sector.
