The main center of economic development in Ceará, the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém (CIPP), received on Monday (22) the Chinese delegation of the Municipal Government of Dalian.
A project considered ambitious, but which has yet to get off the ground, is the oil refining unit in Ceará. Considered a priority work for the State Government, negotiations are advancing, but without fanfare. Everything so as not to sour the deal, as happened with the Chinese company Qingdao Xinyutian Chemical, responsible for the previous project.
Yesterday, the 22nd, Governor Camilo Santana received representatives of the municipal management of Dalian, a Chinese city located 840 km from the capital Beijing. However, he did not hide his desire to bring the refinery to Ceará, directly in the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém (CIPP). “We were very excited about the latest negotiations and we are optimistic about the possibility of this partnership”, declared the governor.

The delegation also got to know the works that are in progress, such as the expansion of the container area for dangerous cargo; the new access bridge to the multiple-use terminal; the new access gate; and the new berth. All these works are part of the expansion package of the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém.
“They got to know Porto; the Export Processing Zone; the Siderúrgica (CSP). They were very impressed with all this logistics that was created here in Complexo do Pecém. And our idea is that we can advance in partnerships and attract investments”, said Danilo Serpa.
“The visit shows that they are interested in developing a business relationship with us. It keeps expectations alive so that we can not only establish a partnership, but also discuss important projects in Ceará through Chinese companies”, said Secretary Maia Júnior.
In April, Camilo visited Dailan and established partnerships in the area of education and economic development. An exchange agreement was signed that provides for students from public schools in the state to travel to the Asian country. The objective is to promote the exchange of cultural and sports experiences, in addition to learning the local language.
In the economic part, the “fillet” can be the refinery, but also a shipyard or unit dedicated to the shipbuilding industry. This is because Dailan is strong not only in the petrochemical area.
