Chinese manufacturer to supply solar inverters for Brazilian solar power project

Chinese solar inverter manufacturer Sungrow to supply inverters and MV stations for the 852 MWp Futura I solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Brazil

The solar inverter company has received the order, and recently a notice to proceed, from Brazilian energy company Focus Energia with the Futura I Solar Power Project. Sungrow will deliver over 100 units of its MVS6300-LV transformer stations and over 3.000 of model SG250HX. The company will also provide commissioning and startup services, it said in yesterday's statement (09/03/20).

Spanish solar tracker maker Soltec Power Holdings recently announced that it will also supply its equipment for the future solar energy project I with Chinese solar inverter maker. Deployment of Futura I is expected to begin in April 2021, while commercial operation of the project is expected in the first half of 2022.

With 22 photovoltaic parks, each with 38,73 MWp of capacity, Futura I represents the first phase of what is planned to become the 3 GW Futura solar complex. Focus Energia selected an area of ​​2.000 hectares (4.942 acres) outside the city of Juazeiro, in the state of Bahia, to install the Futura I plants.

The 852 MWp stage will require investments in excess of R$2,2 billion, according to Sungrow.

Futura I solar energy project  

According to the company's previous project, the Futura I solar project comprises 45 parks divided into Futura 1, Futura 2 and Futura 3/Apia. All these solar energy projects together will have an energy capacity of 1.000 average megawatts (MWa) of solar energy.

Focus Energia will also be able to use what is left over from energy projects beyond Futura to create parallel projects that benefit the Brazilian population.
