Citroën, one of the global leaders in the automotive sector, is preparing to launch a new SUV next year. According to information from the Carros 2023 portal, this launch targets direct competition with renowned brands, such as Chevrolet, and promises attractive prices for vehicle enthusiasts. The car is considered the next generation of Citroen C3 Aircross, which made its debut on the automotive market in 2012. As the launch date approaches, more details about this highly anticipated compact SUV are being revealed.

Citroën announced at the end of October that the model, intended to put Chevrolet on alert, will be equipped with an engine 1.0 turbo with 130 horsepower and 20,4 kgfm of torque. This engine is already used in several other Stellantis models, including the Fiat Strada, Fastback and Pulse, as well as the Peugeot 208.

It is not yet confirmed whether the new SUV Citroën will also offer the 1.6 horsepower 118 turbo engine, present in the C3 hatch and in the Peugeot 208 and 2008 models. In response to questions on the topic, Citroën stated that more information about the model line will be made available at the time of launch.

New Citroën car goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds

Citroën confirms that the new car equipped with a 1.0 turbo engine will be accompanied by a CVT automatic transmission, offering 7 virtual gears. Although the automaker has not released specific data on the consumption or performance of this engine, it is speculated that, given the similarity with the Fastback in terms of size, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h can be achieved in less than 10 seconds. In a recent statement, the brand also suggested the possibility of versions with fewer than seven seats.

Additionally, Citroën revealed that the third row seats will be removable, thus allowing a significant expansion of trunk capacity.

The vehicle's interior promises to be modern and technological, including a 10-inch multimedia center compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument panel, among other notable features.

Chevrolet doesn't lag behind and revamp car for an attractive price of R$43 thousand

Although it has not yet made an official announcement in the Brazilian market, Chevrolet reacted to the launch of Citroën's new car by launching the renewed Monza in the Asian market. The model, offered at an attractive price of R$43 thousand, stands out for its modernized design.

Inside, the Monza features two 10,25-inch screens, integrated into a single frame, which function both as an instrument panel and as a multimedia center, similar to the Tracker RS sold in China. The car also includes features such as an induction charger for smartphones, electronic parking brake, heated front seats, blind spot monitoring and exterior mirrors with defroster.

In the entry-level version, the Monza is equipped with a 1.5 four-cylinder engine, delivering 109 horsepower and 14,3 kgfm of torque, a configuration already familiar to the Chinese public. Available with six-speed automatic or manual transmission, this engine allows the Monza to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 12,9 seconds. In terms of efficiency, consumption is 17 km/l in the city and 20 km/l on highways, according to the Chinese test cycle.
