Implementation of a fleet management application increases the performance of 35 vehicles, resulting in time and resource savings.
Cobesa, a Coca-Cola distributor based in Maranhão, increased the productivity of its fleet of 35 vehicles using a fleet management application. Through real-time monitoring of the performance of its vehicles, including stops, accelerations and cornering behavior, the company was able to reduce idle time by 25%, in addition to achieving other significant benefits.
Driving Control and Correction with Innovative Technology
Through telemetry, the application provided by Infleet makes it possible to monitor engine idle time, a valuable resource in reducing costs. Since implementing Infleet's solution in October 2021, Cobesa has seen a noticeable improvement in fleet efficiency within the first six months. After a year and a half, Nilo Gonçalves, Cobesa's fleet manager, was able to highlight the increased performance of the company's 35 vehicles, including trucks and motorcycles.
“We corrected often unconscious driving behaviors that led to excessive fuel consumption. This result brought significant savings, considering the constant increase in fuel prices”, explains Gonçalves. “Infleet's integrated fleet management solution has proven to be effective and has delivered tangible results,” he adds.

Transforming Habits with Actionable Data and Technology
The company had stipulated that engine idle could not exceed 3% per month for motorcycles and 10% for trucks. The 25% reduction exceeded these targets. “Having a cutting-edge tool as an ally, which helps to mitigate problems and provides actionable data to improve the performance of the fleet as a whole, is invaluable”, says the distributor.
Cobesa is a representative example of many companies that, until 2021, still carried out manual monitoring of the performance and conditions of their fleet. The addition of telemetry capabilities, through Infleet's fleet management platform, allowed Cobesa to set and monitor performance targets.
Victor Cavalcanti, co-founder and CEO of Infleet, highlights Gonçalves' strategic approach. “Nilo has set a bold goal: to reduce fuel costs. From events such as hard acceleration, hard braking, sharp cornering and engine idle time, he analyzed the data for answers,” he reports.
“With years of experience, Nilo identified through the platform that the idle time of the engine was too high. After a detailed investigation, he discovered that a vehicle was not shutting down properly, which was affecting engine idle time and consequently increased fuel consumption.”
With this analysis in hand, concrete measures were taken. “For example, a rule was established with drivers to turn off vehicles during deliveries. The application now sends alerts if a vehicle is stopped and turned on beyond a time determined by the operation”, concludes Cavalcanti.
