Four wind farms located in the province of Palencia will receive 28 SG 5.0-145 onshore turbines from Siemens Gamesa, with a total capacity of 140MW

Find out how the partnership between Repsol and Siemens Gamesa is driving renewable energy in Spain. With two new contracts in place, Siemens Gamesa will supply 40 wind turbines to power six Repsol wind farms, totaling a capacity of 200MW. This is incredible news for the renewable energy industry!

Wind turbines for Repsol wind farms

As part of the Repsol project, four wind farms located in the province of Palencia will receive 28 Siemens Gamesa SG 5.0-145 onshore turbines, with a total capacity of 140MW. In addition, Repsol's Delta II project will be driven by 12 turbines installed in wind farms in the province of Zaragoza, totaling 60MW. These wind farms will be essential to boost clean energy generation in Spain.

Clean energy and emission reduction

With the 40 turbines in operation, it will be possible to generate enough energy to supply 160.000 Spanish homes. In addition, this renewable energy source will avoid the emission of 540.000 tons of greenhouse gases, which is equivalent to removing more than 300 vehicles from the streets. The partnership between Repsol and Siemens Gamesa is directly contributing to reducing the environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable future.

Strengthening the partnership for a green future

These contracts further strengthen the collaboration between Repsol and Siemens Gamesa. With eight wind farms powered by Siemens Gamesa turbines, Repsol will reach a total capacity of 324MW. This partnership is key to boosting the growth of wind energy in Spain and promoting the country's energy independence.

Siemens Gamesa and Repsol are committed to transforming the energy sector, promoting the transition to clean and renewable sources. This initiative is a significant step towards Repsol's ambitious goal of reaching 6GW of installed renewable capacity by 2025 and 20GW by 2030. Together, these companies are leading the way towards a future with net zero emissions by 2050.

Kerman Gabiola, managing director of Siemens Gamesa Spain, said: “This important agreement reached with Repsol allows us to strengthen our relationship with one of the most committed companies in Spain with renewable energies and support the necessary boost to the sector in our country. Our aim is to continue working side by side with our customers to promote the growth of wind energy in Spain, which will help promote a green transition and further the cause of energy independence.”
