Copercampos announced an investment of more than R$200 million in an ethanol plant in Santa Catarina. The project aims to generate job vacancies and reinforces the importance of the ethanol sector in Brazil.
Copercampos, one of the main agricultural cooperatives in Santa Catarina, revealed an investment of more than R$200 million for the construction of a modern ethanol plant in Campos Novos. The announcement took place during the opening of the 28th Copercampos Technological Show, a prominent event in the state's agricultural scene. During the course of the works, hundreds of new job vacancies will be opened, benefiting local residents.
New project will have R$200 million invested in the construction of an ethanol plant
The new plant, designed to be a milestone in ethanol production, is expected to generate around 3,7 million liters of hydrated ethanol and 32 million liters of anhydrous ethanol annually.
The project, developed in partnership with the company Lindner Techno Systems, will use corn and wheat as raw materials for the production of ethanol, with a composition of 85% corn and 15% wheat.

In addition to the main production of ethanol, the plant plans to manufacture DDGs (distiller's dried grains with solubles) as a by-product, with an estimated capacity of 25 thousand tons per year.
These DDGs are valuable in feed manufacturing, contributing to the circular economy and sustainability in the production chain.
Project expects to generate more than 100 direct jobs and strengthen the local economy
The expectation is that the new plant will consume around 30% of the corn received by the cooperative, consolidating itself as an integrated operation.
Additionally, the plant will be able to produce protein bran, corresponding to DDGs, essential in the manufacture of feed for the agricultural industry.
The location chosen for the construction of the plant is Encruzilhada, taking advantage of the presence of an existing storage unit, which will facilitate the efficient receipt of raw material.
Work is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2024, with an estimated completion date of two years.
One of the notable aspects of this project is the projection of generating more than 100 direct job vacancies, contributing significantly to local economic development.
Copercampos' initiative reinforces not only the commitment to innovation and sustainability, but also highlights the importance of the ethanol sector in the Brazilian energy matrix.
