Nissan sedan for less than R$27 in the automotive market: the economical Nissan Tiida offers excellent consumption and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds.
Nissan currently has a leaner portfolio in the Brazilian automotive market, but this was not always the case. In the 2000s, the Japanese automaker offered a wide range of models, including minivans and mid-size hatchbacks, including the Nissan Tiida. This economical sedan, which combined features from both segments, is now on the rise in the used car market, being an attractive option for less than R$27.
With excellent fuel consumption and performance that still surprises, the Tiida stands out as a smart choice for those looking for savings without sacrificing good performance.
History of the Nissan Tiida in the automotive market
Nissan's sedan was an alternative for fans of the Japanese brand in a segment where manufacturers like Honda and Toyota were not present. The Nissan Tiida then took advantage of this gap and left its mark in the six years it was present in the automotive market. Today, present in the used segment, it is a great suggestion for those who like a Hatch/economical and spacious sedan.

Inspired by the C-Note concept revealed in 2003, the Nissan Tiida was launched on the Brazilian market in the first half of 2007. Imported from Mexico, it arrived with a 1.8 16V engine that accompanied it throughout its trajectory on the Brazilian market, and manual and automatic transmission options.
In 2009, this set became a flex and had its power slightly increased. 2010 marked the first and only restyling of the Nissan sedan, which stopped being sold in Brazil in July 2013, in a segment that was already showing signs of weakening.
It is worth noting that, when it arrived, the Nissan Tiida competed with big players and its rivals were models such as the Ford Focus, Hyundai i30, Volkswagen Golf, Citroën C4, Peugeot 307, Chevrolet Vectra GT and Fiat Bravo.
Silk Nissan Tiida offers 126 hp of power
The Brazilian automotive market only saw the first generation of the Nissan Tiida. Since 2015, however, the model has been in its third generation. In European markets it is sold as the Pulsar. In countries such as China and Russia, it is sold as the Tiida.
The only difference is that the economy sedan became a flex-fuel vehicle in 2009. But little has changed in terms of performance, and the 126 hp with ethanol and 125 hp with gasoline provide competent acceleration, and the manual gearbox has well-spaced ratios, in addition to a great sixth gear that acts as overdrive. The Nissan sedan goes from 0 to 100 km/h in under 10 seconds.
With a four-speed automatic transmission, the scenario changes. The transmission provides comfort, but lacks precision, especially at medium revs, situations in which the transmission becomes a little hesitant about which gear to engage. Performance, although not the strong point of the economy sedan, delivers good averages:
- City ethanol consumption: 7km/l;
- City gasoline consumption: 10,5km/l;
- Road ethanol consumption: 8,7km/l;
- Gasoline highway consumption: 12,9km/l.
What to look for when buying a Nissan Tiida?
When considering buying a used Nissan Tiida, it is essential to pay attention to several aspects to ensure you get a good deal. One of the great highlights of the Nissan sedan is the optimized cabin, which offers a good driving position and a sliding rear seat, comfortably accommodating two adults and a child.
The feeling of space is reinforced by the high roof, while the trunk, with a capacity of 289 liters (when the rear seat is all the way forward), offers a reasonable amount of space for a car in this category. The interior finish is simple, but well assembled, with correct closures that demonstrate the quality of the car.
When buying a used Tiida, it is essential to be aware of some recurring problems. One of the most common is related to the steering box, which can present excessive play and vibrations. In addition, check the fastening of external parts, especially the rear deflector, as the fastening nuts can lose grip over time.
Another point of attention is the engine cooling system, as there have been reports of overheating. Make sure that the cooling system is in perfect condition, as problems in this area can result in considerable expenses in the future. Carefully evaluating these aspects can avoid unpleasant surprises and ensure that you make a safe and satisfactory purchase.
