The chance you've been waiting for has arrived! The Department of Education (Sedu) is offering hundreds of places for students to participate in exchange programs completely free of charge and with all expenses paid, in three countries: Canada, the United States and Chile. O selection process offers scholarships of study for intensive English and Spanish courses.
The Student Exchange Program for the countries of Canada, the United States and Chile, aims to improve the communicative skills of students in English or Spanish and develop the ability to express themselves proficiently in different communication situations, promoting socio-educational development in a country foreigner.
Student Exchange Program: Canada, United States and Chile
Free and intensive English as a Foreign Language course:

- Deepening the English language at an institution specializing in language teaching, lasting approximately three months.
- Immersion in foreign culture through the daily experiences that the exchange student will experience.
- Accommodation with a foreign family registered in the contracted agency's exchange program, including two meals a day.
- Health insurance, consular visas, subsistence allowance, passport issuance, airline tickets and transportation vouchers for travel during the course period.
Free and intensive Spanish as a Foreign Language Course:
- In-depth study of the Spanish language at an institution specializing in language teaching, lasting approximately three months.
- Immersion in foreign culture through the daily experiences that the exchange student will experience.
- Accommodation with a foreign family registered in the contracted agency's exchange program, including two meals a day.
- Health insurance, consular visas, subsistence allowance, passport issuance, airline tickets and transportation vouchers for travel during the course period.

Selection Process for English and Spanish courses
The selection process is aimed at students enrolled in State Language Centers (CEIs) and selected through the Notice no. 10/2023. It is worth noting that students who have already benefited from scholarships from the Sedu Exchange Program in previous years will not be able to participate in this year's selection process.
The steps of the selection process are:
- First phase: eliminatory and qualifying, requires electronic submission of supporting documents.
- Second stage: classification, based on the analysis of academic performance and attendance.
- Third phase: qualifying and eliminatory, consists of an oral interview.
How to sign up for the Sedu exchange?
Those interested in participating in the free exchange program offered by the Department of Education must register between 10 am on May 20th and 23:59 pm on May 27th, 2024. Registration can be made through the ES Selection website.
