With the increase in demand for professionals trained to deal with students who have special needs, the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) launched a unique opportunity for those who want to specialize in this area.
Registration is now open for the Improvement course in Specialized Educational Assistance for Students with Intellectual Disabilities (CAAEE-DI), offered in the EAD modality and 100% free.
The course, which will be held from August to December 2024, has a workload of 150 hours, distributed across 9 teaching units.

The main objective is capacitate Basic Education teachers to act in a collaborative and participatory way in Specialized Educational Services aimed at students with intellectual disabilities. Classes will be completely online, with tutoring support and teaching materials made available to participants.
Aimed at teachers in public Basic Education networks, especially those who work in Multifunctional Resource Rooms, the course seeks to prepare educators to offer more inclusive and appropriate care.
To participate, you must have a higher education degree in Pedagogy or other degrees, in addition to proving a professional relationship in public or denominational schools as a teacher or coordinator.
How to Apply
Registration must be made by August 18, 2024, through an formulario online. Candidates will be selected in order of registration, according to the requirements established in the notice, with priority given to teachers from Specialized Educational Services and Basic Education, as well as pedagogical coordinators.
In total, 250 places will be offered, 150 of which are intended for Specialized Educational Service teachers, 75 for Basic Education teachers and 25 for pedagogical coordinators. There will also be vacancies reserved for people with disabilities (PwD) and self-declared black candidates.
The preliminary and final selection results will be announced on August 23 and 25, 2024, respectively, on the CIED website. More details can be found in Notice 03/2024.
