The Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) launched the Notice 16/2024 for the selection process of the courses Professional Qualification in Languages, offering an unmissable opportunity for those seeking professional training. These courses are free of charge, with places available on several campuses. Candidates will be selected by electronic public draw, providing equal opportunities to all applicants.
Objective of the free course and workload
Professional qualification courses aim to prepare students for the job market, with a focus on developing language skills. Offered in the format in-person or, the courses have a variable workload, according to the level and language chosen, and can range from 40 to 160 hours. Activities include theoretical classes, seminars, placement tests and conversation practice.
Available vacancies and locations
The notice includes vacancies distributed across different IFSC campuses, such as Florianopolis, Lages, Garopaba, Tubarao and Xanxerê. Each course has a specific number of places, such as the Spanish Conversationwith 20 vacancies and the course of English Level 1 with 25 vacancies.

Selection processes
Selection for the free course will be carried out through public electronic draw, ensuring impartiality. The draw will be broadcast live on the IFSC channel on YouTube. After the draw, the list of approved candidates will be published on the IFSC portal, with the call for those selected to enroll. The vacancies include quotas for affirmative actions, such as candidates from public schools and people with disabilities.
Application requirements
To participate in the selection process, candidates must have the minimum level of education required for the course, which can range from elementary to high school. In addition, candidates must have access to the internet to register, since the process will be entirely online. In some more advanced courses, candidates will be required to take a placement test.
