Os free courses offered by IFSP has a special focus on languages, an increasingly essential skill in the globalized world. Among the available options are courses such as “Grammar for Business” and “English for Entrance Exams”. Additionally, for those who wish to improve their Spanish, there are “Advanced Spanish I” courses. All courses are offered on the São Paulo campus, with a total of 229 places distributed according to broad competition criteria, reserves for black, brown, indigenous candidates and people with disabilities.

Basic Communication in English – Vacancies: 20 Vacancies – Workload: 32 hours

The course will work on comprehension and production (oral and written), covering the following contents: personal information and interests, information about family members, study and work routine, description of places; with the use of the verb to be; auxiliaries of and does; w/h questions; verbs there is and there are; adjectives; numbers; alphabet; and action verbs.
Grammar for Business – English Grammar for the business area – Vacancies: 30 – Workload: 32 hours
Develops communicative ability in a foreign language, expanding knowledge of technical vocabulary in English.
Basic English 2 – Vacancies: 30 – Duration: 34 hours
The course continues with students who have already started learning the English language and want to advance their knowledge. At the end of the course, the student will be able to express information about themselves and others, the place they live and their daily life.
English for Entrance Exam – Vacancies: 25 – Duration: 40 hours
The course features theoretical classes on linguistic and textual aspects of the English language, covering the reading and interpretation of English texts and focusing on reading and text comprehension exercises already carried out in entrance exams and ENEM.
English for Conversation – Vacancies: 20 – Duration: 40 hours
The Course addresses strategies for negotiating meanings, solving possible problems and differentiating the ways of constructing meaning between the mother tongue and the target language.
Advanced Spanish – Vacancies: 20 – Duration: 32 hours
The course develops the following contents: Expression of future, conditions and probability; Discourse markers, subordinate clauses, punctuation; Imperative, Imperative with pronouns; Imperfect subjunctive tense; Discursive genres: round table, soap opera, seminar and article.
Advanced Spanish 1 – Vacancies: 20 – Duration: 32 hours
The Course takes students to learn about different textual genres, discussing cultural themes in the Spanish language and comparing them with the culture of the language itself.
Who can participate
To participate in the courses, candidates must be at least 15 years old and have completed primary education. Some courses have additional requirements, such as “Basic English 2”, which requires certification from the previous module or passing a diagnostic assessment. “Advanced Spanish” courses require approval in the intermediate course or proof of equivalent knowledge.
Admission process
The selection process is simple and objective: the first candidates who meet the prerequisites will have their places guaranteed. The selection of candidates will be carried out in order of registration, respecting the vacancy reservation criteria. The list of classifieds will be published on the IFSP website on August 12, 2024.
Enrollment must be carried out online, upon presentation of the necessary documents, such as a copy of your ID, CPF and proof of education. Unfilled vacancies will be made available for broad competition.

Registration for all courses will be open until August 07, 2024. To register, access the link corresponding to the desired course and fill out the registration form with all the requested data. It is important that all documents are legible and complete, as any irregularity could lead to the loss of the vacancy.
