Elon Musk announces a mega project involving the new “oil of the 1st century”: Brazilian 'white gold'. With more than XNUMX million tons in reserves, Brazil becomes one of the main targets of global mining companies.

In recent years, billionaire Elon Musk has shown great interest and investment in Brazil. In 2022, Musk visited the country to implement the Starlink internet network. Now, Musk's focus is on Brazilian lithium, an essential and strategic resource. Brazil's 'white gold', increasingly valued, is one of the main components in the production of electric vehicle batteries and, now, a mega project for the new oil of the XNUMXst century is about to come to fruition.

Brazilian lithium could reach 1,2 million tons

Called the new oil of the 21st century, Brazilian lithium is attracting the interest of global corporations, including Tesla, which Elon Musk is seeking to expand through Brazilian reserves. This investment in Brazil, which has large reserves, especially in the state of Minas Gerais, represents a significant opportunity for the mining sector, which could benefit from the growing demand for lithium and sustainable production to supply the global market.

It is estimated that Brazil's 'white gold' could reach 1,2 million tons, making it one of the largest holders of this resource. This mega project for the new oil of the XNUMXst century represents a unique opportunity for the country to become a major global supplier, especially with the increasing need for rechargeable batteries.

According to recent studies, global demand for lithium is expected to quadruple by 2035, jumping from 1 million tons in 2024 to 4 million, driven by the popularization of electric cars, whose sales grow every year.

Brazilian Lithium Attracts Billion-Dollar Mega Project

Although large producers such as Australia, Chile and China dominate the current market, Brazil stands out for one thing: its cleaner extraction method. Here, lithium is extracted from drilled rocks, without the use of harsh chemicals or evaporation processes that release carbon. This makes Brazilian lithium a clean product, attracting companies such as BYD and Sigma Lithium, as well as Elon Musk himself, who recognizes the importance of environmentally responsible methods for the production of his electric vehicles.

This difference attracts the attention of global electric vehicle manufacturers, who are looking not only for sources of lithium, but also for ways to reduce environmental impact. The country's environmental commitment means it is seen as a potential hub for sustainable innovation for Brazil's 'white gold', going beyond the mere export of raw materials to position itself as a production center for batteries and electric vehicles, especially with the advance of Bravo Motor Company, which plans to build an industrial complex in the Nova Lima region of Minas Gerais.

Companies to invest 5,5 billion in mega project for new XNUMXst century oil

In addition to being one of the largest holders of the new oil of the 5,5st century, Brazil has the potential to play a central role in the global electric vehicle economy. With companies such as China’s BYD investing R$XNUMX billion to establish a factory in Brazil, the country is already attracting giants in the sector.

Sigma Lithium, which holds the largest reserve of Brazilian 'white gold', is also in the sights of investors. Elon Musk tried to negotiate to acquire this mining company, but, even without immediate success, he remains interested in future opportunities.

Tesla, for example, already has an agreement with Vale to supply nickel, another key component for electric car batteries. With these agreements and the growing interest in Brazilian lithium, there is a strong possibility that Elon Musk will move forward with plans to establish a Tesla factory in Brazil.

The way our country is being run by a ****, the profits from this project will go into his pocket.
Brazil has everything it needs to be a great country, it's a shame that corruption doesn't let it grow...

In Brazil there has never been a left or a right, there have always been corrupt people. It is the planet's gold mine. However, there never is nor will there be rulers for its capacity. Regrettable.

After I also reached this conclusion and saw no way out, I began to study more about the parliamentary monarchy. A moderator without political interests, who thinks about the nation's project, who thinks about Brazil in 10, 20, 30 years. After we became a republic, Brazil fell into scandals and disorder.

Dominates because you put together a congress of corrupt people who are more interested in Trump's elections than in Brazil's problems and say that Lula is ****, you should prove if you know anything or you should be arrested if you don't!

Yes, a Brazilian can only get a concession like this if he is related to politicians, absurd.
We have many competent people to do this and we do not have the freedom or permission to do anything in our country.

We have been exploited since the day the Portuguese invaded our lands and began to take Brazil to Europe. As always, the profits go to the exploiters and we are left with only the trash, the dams, and the environmental destruction. It will be no different.

In this case there is no dam, the waste is dried, pressed and piled up.
The only mistake I see in this project is the fact that it extracts lithium from the north of Minas Gerais, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, and takes it to benefit an already promising region, instead of generating employment where it is most needed.

I completely agree with you. It is easier to fill containers and take our raw materials than to require companies to open branches in Brazil.
If they take raw materials, manufacture their cars and resell them to the country, of course the burden will be lighter on the backs of foreigners, leading the economy to the ruin it is in. We need a president to put Brazil in order.
Even though Brazil is operating at half the value of the dollar, Brazil should be first in the ranking because it has raw materials for all the projects that foreign and Brazilian businessmen invent.
Who knows, maybe one day a Joseph will become president. Remember King Pharaoh?

If all countries had the same labor laws we would be invincible, but the problem is that we idolize China, where individuals work more than 14 hours without any labor rights, or Russia, where my great-grandfather Deda said he was forced to work in the fields and only changed his shoes when they got holes and the government decided whether to give him new ones...

Why do you think Bolsonaro was desperate to get reelected, but he didn't get it, and now he's got Musk to go head-to-head with Alexandre de Morais? Pure self-interest, Bolsonaro was going to do the same thing he did with the Randulfo Alves refinery, sell it for peanuts and take the profits on the side! Thank God that lunatic didn't win!

Minas Gerais in its central part, Vale and other foreign mining companies have created a huge set of holes with unbridled mining and politicians must not allow Elon Musk to appropriate our lithium reserves. If he wants to, he has to install his industries in the north of Minas Gerais! Enough is enough, they are already taking our iron ore and other valuable minerals with it. It's a shame!

The right thing to do would be to not sell mining to any foreigner! It has always been like this, we have top quality raw materials, then an ambitious foreigner comes and buys what is ours and resells it to us at a golden price! Musk wants our mines because he knows they are worth millions, much more than he wants to offer!
