Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) announced the opening of registrations for its free online course on organic production. With a total workload of 22 hours, The free course consists of four modules and is aimed at rural producers, students, technicians and others interested in learn the fundamentals and most current practices of organic farming. In addition to the video classes, participants will have access to a variety of complementary content and certification at the end of the training, according to the Agro2 website.
Course Structure: Comprehensive content across four modules
The structure of the free course is designed so that participants acquire knowledge ranging from initial concepts to advanced organic production practices. The program is divided into four modules, each addressing different aspects of organic farming.
- First module: researcher Gisele Vilela, from Embrapa Territorial, presents the concept of organic agriculture and its history. This module initially traced a timeline of the movements that inspired and formed the basis for the development of organic agriculture, contextualizing participants about the guiding principles of this practice.
- Second module: focuses on managing soil and crops in a sustainable and controlled manner according to organic principles. The classes in this module are dedicated to techniques and best practices to ensure soil fertility and plant health, promoting biodiversity and reducing the use of artificial chemicals.
- Third module: the course focuses on the rules and regulations that guide organic production in Brazil. This segment is essential for producers who wish to regularize the production of organic food, offering information on certification, legislation and compliance with the standards required for organic cultivation.
- Fourth module: includes the use of the Organotheque, an Embrapa tool that brings together technologies and information applicable to organic production. The Organoteca offers access to a variety of materials, such as videos, brochures, radio programs and other technical publications. This module is offered so that participants can make the most of the resources and knowledge available to innovate and improve their agricultural practices.
