With ambitious new projects, the shipyard is once again boosting the local economy, generating hundreds of jobs and investing in sustainable technologies. In addition, its operations now go beyond shipbuilding, with investments focused on the future of clean energy.

O Enseada Shipyard, located em maragogipe, and on Recรดncavo Baiano region, is reactivating its operations and bringing new life to the Brazilian naval sector. With a robust history of participating in major projects, the shipyard is back in action after a period of inactivity, focusing on the construction of barges โ€” vessels essential for the transportation of products. The project will be developed in partnership with Tenenge, another company of the Novonor Group, and should bring about a major transformation in the regionโ€™s economy.

Among the main expected results of this recovery are the creation of around 300 direct jobs e atรฉ 900 indirect vacancies, bringing a significant impact to both the local community and the Bahian economy. The 80 barges, which will be built with the capacity to transport up to 2.900 tons each, demonstrate the strength of the enterprise, which aims to strengthen the maritime transport sector national.

Billion-dollar investment and cutting-edge infrastructure

O Enseada Shipyard was originally designed to act on the construction of offshore units, with emphasis in oil platforms e specialized vessels. The shipyard is considered one of the largest private investments in the Brazilian naval industry, with approximately USD 1 billion already injected into its infrastructure. This amount allowed the creation of an advanced industrial space, capable of processing more than 100 thousand tons of steel per year, and has 1.000 meters of pier for docking large vessels.

This infrastructure places Enseada among the main industrial hubs in Brazil, prepared to meet not only the demand of oil and gas industry, but also to diversify its operations into other areas. The shipyard's strategic location, in Bahian Recรดncavo, is another key factor for its competitiveness, allowing easy access to sea routes and facilitating the logistics of large projects.

Diversification of activities: more than a shipyard

Besides shipbuilding, the Enseada Shipyard stands out for the operation of its Private Use Terminal (TUP), a customs area of 750 thousand mยฒ which is used for the export and import of dry bulk โ€” both mineral and vegetable โ€” and general cargo. This broadens the scope of the shipyard's operations, making it an important player not only in the naval industry, but also in logistics and industrial sector.

In recent years, Enseada has also started to operate in the market renewable energy, focusing on building components for wind turbines and in attracting projects linked to green hydrogen. This initiative reflects the shipyard's quest for greater sustainability and alignment with global energy transition trends, while reinforcing the role of Brazil as one of the largest producers of clean energy in the world.

Tenenge and Novonor Group: tradition and innovation drive the project

The partnership between Enseada Shipyard and Tenenge, both belonging to the Novonor Group, represents the union of forces of two companies with extensive experience in the engineering and construction market. The Novonor Group, which completes 80 years in 2024, has a long history of significant contributions to the development of essential sectors of the Brazilian economy, including infrastructure, civil construction, petrochemicals, and mobility.

By resuming shipyard operations, the Group reinforces its commitment to socioeconomic development of Brazil, investing in innovative technologies and training the local workforce. Novonor's legacy of excellence is consolidated by technical and specialized performance, which is directly reflected in the quality of the projects carried out.

Socioeconomic impact: job creation and regional development

The return of operations in the Enseada Shipyard not only boosts the local economy, but also provides a large amount of direct and indirect jobs in the Recรดncavo Baiano region. For each direct job created at the shipyard, three other indirect jobs are created in the production chain, impacting several related sectors, such as logistics, supply of materials and auxiliary services.

The creation of 300 direct jobs is just the beginning. With the forecast of up to 900 indirect vacancies, the economic movement can generate a positive ripple effect for the entire region. Furthermore, the impact of the project goes beyond the economic sphere, offering better professional training opportunities for the local population and strengthening the development of a more qualified workforce for the industrial sector.
