Yesterday, during Rio Oil & Gas, the president of Equinor, Andres Opedal, stated that the company will continue to focus on oil and gas assets, but is also interested in the expansion of renewables, since the multinational wants to zero its emissions of pollutants.

The multinational is one of the largest companies in the sector and is increasingly seeking to diversify its portfolio. The CEO also states that one of Equinor's main goals is to become one of the leaders in the energy transition. Andres Opedal said it is too early to guarantee progress in pursuing renewable energy project plans. The type of project is still under study.
Recently, the multinational and Petrobras signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a renewable energy initiative based on the business models of the two companies.
