According to the complaint, the ships in the Port of Suape leave the coast of Pernambuco and are used for cocaine trafficking in South America and Europe.

Data proven by the complaint state that there is the possibility of there being something more than carcinogenic substances and radioactive waste inside the aircraft carriers that are in the Port of Suape, on the coast of Pernambuco.

The Federal Police and Pernambuco port authorities received complaints, made through official reporting channels, that the “ghost ship”, sold by the Brazilian Navy to a company in Turkey, may be being used to traffic cocaine from America. south to Europe.

The complaints were made anonymously, but both the Federal Police and the Government of Pernambuco responded by informing them of the referral given.

Formalization of the complaint

A complaint was formalized jointly with the managers of the port of Suape and the ombudsman of the Government of Pernambuco on October 5, the day on which the ship reached the coast of the state and was prevented from docking at the port of Suape.

The reason for the impediment was the same that prevented it from passing through the Strait of Gibraltar, the gateway to the Mediterranean Sea, and from being received by Turkish ports: not having an inventory of contaminants by an internationally recognized laboratory.

The complaint filed reads: "If you allow this ship to be docked in your port, please conduct a proper search for narcotics." “Investigative journalists in Turkey are discussing whether ship wrecking companies use end-of-life vessels for drug trafficking. It's not just rumours. Some witnesses, workers at the ship scrap yard, reported this”.

Arrangements

On October 19, the ombudsman said it had forwarded the case to the Port Authority, including the Port of Suape, and to the Federal Police. In addition, investigative journalists also made contact with the Federal Police in Brasilia, reinforcing the need to carry out a search for drugs, in addition to sending links to reports published by Turkish journalists and vehicles beyond the Port of Suape.

When contacted, the communications advisor for the Federal Police in Pernambuco, Giovanni Santoro, did not comment on the investigations at the Port of Suape. However, Pernambuco government authorities confirmed the veracity of the complaint made.
