The Federal Institute released a list of 173 free courses available for the first half of 2025. There are several opportunities on 17 campuses spread across Rio Grande do Sul, in cities such as Alvorada, Bento Gonçalves, Caxias do Sul, Porto Alegre, among others. The best part? These courses are completely free and ranging from integrated high school to technical education up to undergraduate, bachelor's and technology degrees.
There are many options for everyone: those who are still in high school can enroll in technical courses, either integrated with high school or concurrently (for those who study at another school). Those who have already completed high school have access to subsequent courses and degrees. And look, for those interested in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality, there are also vacancies!

How to enroll in free courses at the Federal Institute
Applications for the 2025/1 Selection Process will be open from September 26 to October 14, 2024. But be careful: to secure your place, you will need to go through a selection process. Depending on the course and campus chosen, this selection process can be done in three ways: through a test, using your Enem score (starting in 2019), or even by drawing lots. Details of how the selection process for each course will be carried out are available on the IF website.
For those who cannot afford to pay the registration fee, it is possible to request authorization (free registration) until September 25, 2024. Simply access the official website (ingresso.ifrs.edu.br) and follow the indicated steps. The result of the authorization requests will be announced on September 26.
