With opportunities that seem to come out of a dream, the IFPI announced the opening of thousands of vacancies for those who want to enter higher education without paying a cent.

The promise is clear: study without compromising your pocket. But are these opportunities for everyone? Who can really benefit? The answers may surprise you.

According to the IFPI, registration is open for 70 completely free courses. They are, in total, 2.740 vacancies available for the first semester of 2025, distributed across 19 campuses of the institution.

The chance to study remotely attracts more and more students, especially those who do not have direct access to urban centers.

Registration details

For those interested, registrations will be open from September 9 to October 27, 2024 and must be done exclusively by the IFPI official website. However, there is an important detail: you must have an account on the Gov.br portal.

If you don't have one yet, you'll need to create one before starting the registration process. In addition, there is a registration fee of R$40, but here's some good news for those in a more difficult financial situation.

According to the notice, candidates who are part of families registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) and whose per capita family income is less than or equal to half the minimum wage, may request exemption from the fee. This measure aims to ensure that the process is truly accessible to everyone., reinforces the IFPI in its statement.

How do the courses offered work?

The courses are aimed at those who wish to enter higher education and are divided into three main categories: bachelor's degree, teaching degree and technologist.

Each of these formats caters to different student profiles., but all with the aim of offering an education that prepares the student for the job market or for an academic career.

bachelor degree

Bachelor's degrees are the most traditional. They offer a generalist, scientific or humanistic education, and last from four to five years.

At the end of the course, the student receives a bachelor's degree and will be able to carry out professional activities in various areas. Candidates who are completing or have already completed high school may apply.

Bachelor's degree

Ideal for those who wish to become basic education teachers, undergraduate courses grant students a bachelor's degree, preparing them to work in schools across the country. The minimum duration of these courses is four years, and they are also aimed at those who have already completed or are completing high school.

Technologist courses are aimed at faster and more specific training. Lasting two to three years, they guarantee specialized training in scientific and technological areas. Upon completion, the student receives a technologist degree, which qualifies them to work in markets with high demand for technical knowledge.

Test and selection

Candidates will undergo an objective test consisting of 70 multiple choice questions and an essay. The scheduled date for the exam is December 8, 2024, and the final result will be announced from the January 10, 2025.
