Imagine the opportunity to specialize in a 100% free course, with a certificate recognized by the MEC and offered by one of the most respected institutions in Brazil. If you are a public school teacher in Bahia, this could be the chance to delve deeper into knowledge that can transform the lives of your students.

O Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA) has just opened 400 places for the Continuing Training course in Audio Description and Reader Services, essential training for those who want to master accessibility techniques and contribute to the inclusion of students with special needs.

Unique opportunity for public school teachers

IFBA is offering 400 vacancies distributed among teachers from various regions of Bahia, divided as follows:

  • 200 vacancies for Salvador
  • 50 vacancies for Barreiras and region
  • 50 vacancies for Paulo Afonso and region
  • 50 vacancies for Seabra and region
  • 50 vacancies for Vitória da Conquista and region

With a workload of 120 hours, the course lasts four months and will be entirely taught via distance learning (EAD), using the Google Classroom platform. The flexibility of distance learning will allow teachers to combine their routines with training, without giving up quality and specialized support.

Course structure from IFBA

The Federal Institute course is divided into three modules, each focused on crucial aspects of inclusive education:

  • Module I: National special education policies from an inclusive perspective and people with visual impairments.
  • Module II: Specialized Educational Service (AEE).
  • Module III: Accessing the world of audio description (AD) and getting to know MAIE, Methodology for Audio Description of Still Images.

This format was developed so that teachers can acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about audio description and reader services, skills that are fundamental to guaranteeing the autonomy and inclusion of students with visual impairments.

Opening and closing

The course will begin with an Opening Lecture on September 2nd, at 19pm, and is expected to end on December 20th, also at 19pm. These meetings will be essential to align expectations, resolve doubts and provide an environment for interaction between participants.

Who can participate?

To enroll in the course, you must:

  • Being a teacher in the public education network in the State of Bahia.
  • Be available to participate in synchronous meetings, according to the dates established by the course coordination.

This is an exclusive opportunity for public school teachers, who want to improve their skills and offer a more inclusive and accessible education.

Registration and selection process at IFBA

Registration for the Federal Institute course is open until August 19th and must be completed by filling out an online form available at the link: https://forms.gle/uFXAxRoMj4v5vhsM7.

The selection of applicants will be made in chronological order, respecting the number of vacancies available and the criteria established in the notice. Those who do not get a spot immediately will be placed on a waiting list.

Selected candidates will receive an access link to the classes by email, before the course starts, so that they can prepare adequately and get the most out of the training.

Therefore, if you are a teacher who seeks to make a difference in the lives of your students and believes in education as a means of social transformation, don't miss this chance.

Registration for the IFBA Continuing Training in Audio Description and Reading Service course is open, and this could be your opportunity to contribute even more to inclusive and accessible education.
