The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) announces the opening of an extra class for your free online English course (EAD), starting in March. This is a valuable opportunity for people from all over Brazil who want to learn a new language in the comfort of their own homes, free of charge and with the flexibility of distance learning.

With a workload of 30 hours, the free online course (EAD) was carefully structured to cover essential and practical topics such as personal identification, location in time and space, and everyday vocabulary, providing students with a solid foundation for communication in English. In addition to video classes and teaching materials, the language course offers interactive activities, discussion forums and consolidation exercises, ensuring dynamic and effective learning.

After completing this introductory module, participants can continue their studies through other sequential courses available on the same platform, progressively deepening their knowledge and language skills.

Requirements

The language course offered by the Federal Institute (IFRS) is completely free and online (EAD), accessible to people from all over Brazil who meet the basic requirements to attend the classes. To participate, you must have good reading and listening skills in Portuguese, as well as a computer with audio and video capabilities and a PDF file reader.

Registration for the March extra class is now open and can be done through the link (click here), until all vacancies are filled. Students who complete the course by July 31, 2025 and perform well in the activities and assessments will receive a free certificate of completion, recognized by the Federal Institute-IFRS.
