Free courses at a Federal University: UFJF, located in Minas Gerais, is offering hundreds of free places for undergraduate and graduate degrees in various areas, check out how to participate
The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) has released a new selection notice to fill opportunities in free courses. In total, there are 975 free spots divided into Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Education, Pedagogy and Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration. Places for free courses are divided according to the institution's quota system, with nine access groups, eight of which are focused on affirmative action and one for broad competition (group C). Free courses include:
Degree in Computing
This course aims to train professionals who master the basic knowledge of the computing sector to work in Basic Education in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, in addition to providing knowledge in computational and algorithmic thinking, the digital world and digital culture.

Pedagogy
This course aims to prepare educators to work in Early Childhood Education, the initial years of elementary school, literacy and youth and adult education, as well as Educational Management. Professionals with a degree in Pedagogy can work in school and non-school settings, developing forms of educational management based on the principles of democratic management.
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration
This program aims to train professionals of academic and professional excellence, citizens who are ethically and politically involved with society. In this proposal, it acts with the commitment to safeguard the public good, based on the formulation and compliance with transparent criteria, based on legislation, guidelines, standards and regulations.

Interested candidates can register for free courses at the Federal University from 15 pm on February 10th until 18 pm on February 21st, 2025, through the Copese website.
After reading the instructions, filling out the digital form and sending it, the interested candidate must print the GRU corresponding to the registration fee, in the amount of R$ 150, make the payment until February 21, 2025, only through Banco do Brasil, respecting bank clearing times.
It is also possible to request exemption from this fee between February 10 and 12. It is worth mentioning that, at the time of registration, the candidate must select the desired center and be careful with the choice.
The final result will be available on the Copese website from 16 pm on March 21, 2025. The days, deadlines and submission of documents for enrollment of approved candidates will be posted on the Cdara website (Academic Records Coordination). Classes are scheduled to start on April 22, 2025.

Understand how selection for free courses at the Federal University works
Admission to Distance Learning Undergraduate Courses in free places will take place with 80% of the places reserved for the general public, taking into account the average grades in Portuguese and Mathematics, with presentation of the High School transcript.
The remaining 20% will be allocated to teachers in the public school system who are currently working, who do not have a higher education degree or who are working in an area other than that degree. Teachers must prove their connection to their respective education systems and present, as a mandatory requirement, their registration on the Freire platform.
If it is a “Federal” University, it is Public by nature, without monthly fees, correct? I just didn't understand the advertisement using “Free” implying that the courses are paid, but this time it will be “/”Free” correct me if I am wrong.
I am indigenous and only from the State of Amazonas can I participate in the selection process as a quota
