The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pernambuco-IFPE launched the Notice no. 35/2024, offering 150 places for the specialization course “Science is a 10!”. This distance learning course is aimed at teachers and other professionals in basic education who wish to train in teaching Science. With a focus on continuing education and specialization, this opportunity aims to improve teaching practices and encourage reflection on teaching in the school environment.

The specialization course “Science is 10!"The main objective of the course is to encourage teachers to reflect on their teaching practices, addressing theories and methodologies that are different to teaching Science in Basic Education. With a workload of 18 months, the course will be taught in a distance learning format, complemented by biweekly face-to-face meetings at selected locations. Among the activities, students participate in classes, forums, seminars and assessments, providing a complete education to strengthen their teaching skills.

Vacancies and locations offered

The Federal Institute-IFPE is offering 150 free online course spots distributed among five locations: Carpina, Gravatá, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Sertânia and Surubim, each with 30 spots. The distribution includes broad competition and affirmative action, reserving spots for candidates who self-declare as black, brown, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities (PcD). This division guarantees an inclusive opportunity for professionals from different backgrounds and needs.

Selection process and vacancy reservations

The selection process is based on the analysis of candidates' curricula, considering their academic background and professional experience. The reserved vacancies include quotas for black, mixed-race, indigenous, quilombola and PcD people, who must prove their conditions through reports and self-declarations attached at the time of registration. Candidates competed simultaneously for the general competition and reserved vacancies, according to their final classification.

Application requirements

To participate, it is necessary to have a degree and, preferably, to work in basic education. Candidates must attach documents such as a degree diploma, ID, CPF and proof of work in educational area. Those who qualify for the reserved vacancies must add supporting documents, such as self-declarations and reports. In addition, payment of the registration fee of R$50,00 is mandatory, except for those who request authorization based on socioeconomic criteria.

  • Exemption Request : November 1-8, 2024
  • Disclosure of Exemption Result : November 12 of 2024
  • Preliminary Results of the Curriculum Analysis : December 19, 2024
  • Appeal Period : December 20, 2024
  • Final Result and Enrollment Notice : December 27, 2024
  • Beginning of Classes : March 5, 2025
