Course modalities and quotas at the Federal Institute

The Federal Institute offers different types of courses technicians, which can be chosen according to the situation of each candidate.

Integrated courses are aimed at students who are still in high school and wish to receive technical training at the same time.

Concomitant courses are for those who are enrolled in another secondary education institution, while subsequent courses are aimed at those who have already completed this stage of schooling.

The selection process also stands out for its commitment to inclusion.

The Federal Institute reserves, in each course, at least 50% of the places for candidates who have completed all of their Elementary or High School education in public schools.

Within this quota, half is allocated to candidates with a gross family income equal to or less than a minimum wage per capita, while the other half is open to students of any income bracket.

Furthermore, the IFMA quota system ensures a percentage of places for specific groups.

79,84% of the vacancies will be reserved for self-declared black, brown and indigenous people, 9,10% for people with disabilities and 3,97% for quilombolas.

Even if the quota calculation does not cover all vacancies, at least one vacancy will be guaranteed for each quota group per course and shift.

It is also important to highlight that 2,5% of the total number of vacancies is reserved for candidates with disabilities, regardless of their educational background, income or race/ethnicity.

Registration and taking the tests are important steps to guarantee access to quality technical and professional education, which is essential for the personal and professional development of students.

IFMA remains a reference in technical training in Maranhão, contributing to the qualification of the local workforce and the economic growth of the region.

The Federal Institute of Maranhão is committed to offering educational opportunities that respect diversity and promote social inclusion, reaffirming its role as an institution committed to training citizens prepared for the challenges of the job market.

Hello, it is very important for young people to qualify and enter the job market. It would be interesting if this were also available here in Bahia, as young people here deserve qualifications as well. My son is 19 years old and is still having difficulty finding a job.
