Italian brand announced investments in new cars focusing on the Brazilian automotive market and promises to surprise. Among the models being developed are the new Fiat Uno, Fiat Pulse and Fiat Fastback.

O Stellantis development center in Brazil, is in full swing with many projects being built at the same time. In addition to the new jeep avenger and the latest Renegade update, the portal auto+ discovered and reported exclusively on some news from the Fiat side of the family with the arrival of new models, including: Fiat Pulse, Fastback and the return of the Fiat Uno.

New Fiat cars are being developed in Minas Gerais

It's no secret that the Italian brand is developing a new compact hatch focusing on the European market. The car will be the successor to the Panda and is already being nicknamed the Fiat Uno, due to its boxy look.

For the national automotive market, we will have a direct derivative of this model, but with cost reductions in the project. The project code, however, had already been known to the public since last year due to a media investigation.

The intention of this new car it's not being an SUV, but exactly the same thing as the current Panda with the second generation Fiat Uno. The F1H project is seen as a successor to the Argo, but in the corridors it is already called the Fiat Uno Reborn, because the square and friendly look is similar to the model. As the model is iconic for the brand, it is an opportunity that should not be missed.

Another novelty that is already being worked on at the Italian brand's factory in Betim (MG), is the new family of compact SUVs. These are the successors of the Fiat Pulse and Fiat Fastback, treated internally as F2U and F2X, which will no longer be models just for Brazil, gaining an international career. The same will happen with the future Fiat Strada (XBP project).

Possible configurations of the new Fiat Pulse and Fiat Fastback

Both the new Fiat Pulse FU2 and the Fiat Fastback FX2, in addition to the F1H (new Fiat Uno, successor to the Argo) will be developed on the CMP modular platform. The base is that of the Peugeot 208 and the Citroën C3, in addition to also serving the Opel Corsa, Lancia Ypsilon and Alfa Romeo Milano.

Fiat Pulse (FU2) – FIAT

For the new Fiat Uno, successor to the Argo, the Italian brand will equip the 1.0 Firefly three-cylinder engine in an aspirated and turbo version, the latter being semi-hybrid and with a CVT transmission. There will also be an intermediate version of the model with a 1.3 Firefly aspirated engine and the option of manual or automatic transmission.

For the new Fiat Pulse (FU2) and Fiat Fastback (FX2), the brand will equip the 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine with a semi-hybrid system and the 1.3 four-cylinder turbo flex, but with reduced power from the current 184 hp. The Abarth version is considered, however, with a high chance of being sold with just the electric motor.

Fiat is leading sales in the pickup truck market

Leaving compacts and SUVs aside, as expected, the brand ended the first quarter of this year as the leader of the pickup truck segment with a big advantage.

Despite having given up first place in the general ranking of the period to the Volkswagen Polo, the model continues to record notable sales figures.

After the Strada, there are vehicles like Saveiro and Toro. In the medium pickup truck segment, the Hilux stands out as the leader, despite not being in the top positions in the general ranking.

In total, 26.577 units were sold from Fiat Strada, more than double that of Saveiro (12.364), second in the ranking. To give you an idea, the numbers surpass those of the first quarter of 2023, with growth of almost 12%. Closing the podium was Toro, with 10.219 sales.
