More than 8 free opportunities are available at the Fiocruz Virtual Campus, offering online courses and certificates in strategic areas of health, science, and technology, aimed at SUS professionals, students, and the general public.

The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation opens registrations in October for training courses free and online No. Fiocruz Virtual Campus with certification at the end of the trails that provide for assessment.

There are self-instructional offerings and remote activities with a defined schedule, aimed at SUS professionals, students, and interested parties, according to the criteria of each course.

Registration and access to the learning environment

Registration and login are done through Fiocruz Single Access, a system that unifies access to the institution’s digital services.

In transition, the platform also maintains integration with the UNA-SUS access in some environments, and the recommendation is to prioritize Single Access.

After enrolling on the course page, the student accesses the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to carry out the activities and, once the requirements are met, the certificate is issued through the system.

Topics aligned with SUS priorities

The training reflects current public policy challenges: the digital and sustainable transformation, prevention and care of chronic diseases, aging, racial equity and the approach One Health, which integrates human, animal and environmental health.

The course "Introduction to Digital Health” is self-instructionalHas 45h and is part of the training program in data science and health information for the SUS.

The content covers principles, uses of technologies, information security and data protection, with a focus on practical applications and ethical use.

The initiative was announced in 30 May 2025 and continues with materials and offers linked to the Virtual Campus.

Diabetes: early diagnosis and self-care

For the care of chronic diseases, Fiocruz offers the course “Diabetes Mellitus in the SUS: promotion, prevention and strengthening of self-care".

The trail is online, self-instructional and is structured in three modules with 40h of workload.

The program addresses epidemiology, risk factors, organization of the care network, and prevention of complications, with assessment for certification.

Aging and combating ageism

In the field of aging, the formation “Literacy in structural ageism and age discrimination” proposes concepts, practices and policies to recognize and address age discrimination in health services.

The course combines theoretical and practical content in 30h, organized into educational blocks, with multimedia resources and online assessment.

Racial equity: literacy for SUS workers

The agenda of racial equity is included in the course “Racial literacy for SUS workers", also self-instructional and com 30h.

The training addresses the fundamentals of structural racism, anti-racist practices, and impacts on health conditions, with certification after evaluation.

One Health: integrating human, animal and environmental agendas

The aproach One Health appears in the course “Introduction to One Health", with 30h e two modules.

The training presents concepts, practical cases and national and international guiding documents, offering a self-instructional path with assessment and issuance of a certificate at the end.

Global Health and Diplomacy: 2025 Calendar

For those who follow international forums, the Current Affairs in Global Health and Health Diplomacy Course 2025 discusses the main governance spaces, such as World Health Assembly, UN General Assembly and climate agendas.

With 140h distributed throughout the year, the edition began its activities in February 12, 2025, with biweekly meetings and simultaneous translation.

Mental health of indigenous youth

Aimed at specific audiences, the trail “Promoting mental health for indigenous youth” qualifies professionals in Primary attention, education and social assistance to identify problems, propose educational actions and value traditional knowledge.

The course is self-instructional, structured in three modules e 30h, announced in July 2025.

Childbirth care and maternal safety

Among the assistance contents, the course “Childbirth care: emphasis on dystocias and main causes of maternal morbidity and mortality” organizes theoretical modules with clinical practice guidelines.

The trail is available at Mooc on open materials and requires enrollment in an active offer to issue a certificate.

Rapid tests for STIs

In cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Fiocruz offers the 2nd edition of the course “Use of rapid tests in the diagnosis of HIV infection, syphilis and hepatitis B and C".

The formation is online, self-instructional, organized in six modules and has 20h of course load in the most recent edition, with a certificate sent by email after the evaluation.

Certification and open educational resources

Most of the featured offers are self-instructional with workload defined by course and certification upon approval of the assessment provided for in each program.

On different hotsites, the guidance is that certificates are issued within five working days upon completion.
