Healthcare professionals can train in the use of geotechnologies applied to the sector; registrations are open until November 14th!
A Fiocruz has open registration for the 5th Course on Geoprocessing and Spatial Analysis in Health, an unmissable opportunity for those working in the field of public health and wants to specialize in the use of geotechnologies. This free course, starting in February 2025, offers a practical, guided approach to solving everyday problems in healthcare settings.
Training aimed at public health professionals
The course is aimed at professionals with training in areas related to public health, in addition to postgraduate students in the same area who seek to deepen their knowledge in geoprocessing e spatial analysis. Will be offered 20 vacancies for the class of 2025, and the main goal is enable students to use geotechnology tools to interpret and analyze spatial data, something that is becoming increasingly essential in healthcare management.
What to expect from the classes: hands-on software and data analysis
During the course, students will learn everything they need to organize and interpret spatial data. From organizing and tabulating data to creating thematic maps and cartograms, each stage of the learning is practical and aimed at applying it in everyday life. Participants will have access to geoprocessing software and to the main equipment for georeferencing, enabling them to develop and analyze cartographic bases with health indicators.

For those who are ready for this learning journey, the course takes place in person between the days February 17 and 28, 2025, with a total workload of 80 hours. Classes will be held at Multidisciplinary Care Institute (IAM), In Rio de Janeiro city.
