The Renault Fluence, one of the brand's affordable models, has been standing out in the used car market. Known for its robustness, the sedan offers 143 horsepower and excellent fuel consumption, making it an attractive option for those looking for performance and economy.
Presented in 2010, the Renault Fluence was the sedan that strengthened Renault's presence in the segment, a remarkable feat given the poor acceptance of its predecessor, the Megane. To achieve this, it was necessary to offer several standard items, good performance, interior space and a little more personality to Renault's cheap car.
What is the best version of the Renault Fluence?
Part of Renault's success is due to the blending of French and Japanese cultures, since under the hood of the Fluence was the reliable 2.0 flex engine (from the Sentra), with 140/143 hp. The gearboxes also came from the Japanese, being the six-speed manual or CVT, with sequential mode simulating six gears that the Nissan did not have.
Renault's cheap car started with the Dynamic and had ABS, front, side and curtain airbags, dual-zone air conditioning, on-board computer, rain and headlight sensors, with CD/MP3/Bluetooth sound and fog lights.

Optional features include a sunroof and leather seats. The Privilège version added leather seats, stability control, Tom-Tom GPS, reverse sensors, cruise control, 17-inch wheels, electric folding mirrors, Arkamys sound system and CVT transmission. A sunroof and xenon headlights were optional.
The 2,7-meter wheelbase resulted in plenty of space inside Renault's cheap car, which featured air vents. The good 530-liter trunk made it a great family sedan, but the Renault Fluence would gain a sporty touch in 2012: the Fluence GT produced 180 hp with a turbo and manual transmission, capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and reaching 220 km/h.
Renault car received a facelift
The model was characterized by its side skirts, rear spoiler and 17-inch wheels. Available in black, white and red, the Renault car had a leather steering wheel, six-speed manual gearbox and aluminum pedals.
The standard items were the same as the Privilège version, plus a sunroof and xenon. The Renault car was restyled in 2014, under the brand's new visual identity, with a larger logo on the grille, along with the Fluence Dynamic Plus, with CVT, leather and multimedia center.
Discontinued in 2015, the Renault Fluence GT gave up its position in 2016 to the GT Line, which was just a Dynamique with exclusive bumpers, side skirts and spoiler. The most curious thing is that the truly sporty version is now worth less than the GT Line on the market.
From 2015 onwards, the range of Renault Fluence versions was reduced year after year, until 2018: before it was discontinued, only the Dynamique Plus and Privilege versions remained. The least popular version is the Expression, from 2012, aimed at taxi drivers and company fleets. It is not a bad car, however it is limited by the Renault 1.6 16V engine with 110/115 hp and the five-speed manual gearbox.
Problems found
Among the main problems of Renault cars is the Lambda sensor, since failures in acceleration, oscillating idle and explosions in the exhaust can indicate problems in the lambda probes, one before and one after the catalytic converter. The fault is almost always indicated on the instrument panel.
Internal noise is a common problem and the main cause is a fault in the welding of the joint between the central column and the floor, causing annoying popping noises. Make sure that the defect has already been resolved within the warranty period.
Finally, it is worth checking the condition of the bushings, rods and shock absorber stops: a general overhaul can easily cost more than R$3.
10 km per liter only if it is on top of the tow truck
True, I do 7 8 in the city
If you want to save more than you would on a ship like this, keep riding your electric scooter.
😆👍🏼
I have a 2013 and it has never let me down, excellent car... It's not very economical but you can remap it if you want more savings.
I have a GT turbo and it does 12 on the road and 8 in the city
Great car bro
mine on the track has an average of 11 in the city 8,9
It's definitely not 10/1.
I had two Privilleg's and I deeply regret having changed.
Even though it doesn't get the 10/1 indicated in the report, it is without a doubt one of the best mid-size cars that have ever circulated in Brazil.
I bought mine a month ago. 2014 with 41.000km…. Great car.
I even do more than 10 in the city in the manual transmission version
I have a 2017 Fluence. I get 13km per liter on the highway. In the city, it is not economical. Great car. In three years I have only changed the battery, brake pads and shock absorbers. My car has just over 100.000 km.
Just like mine, privilege 16, I've done more than 13 on the road. In the city, less than 8
🤔 10km/l? Mine does 6,8km/l. But it's a great car. I bought it in 2012, it's 2024, it has 61.000km and I don't plan on selling it.
️
Where do you find a car for 36 thousand? This report must be from 2000
I bought the 2012 this year for 38 thousand
My Beetle does 22 km/per liter year 74
????
Does your Beetle have all the options that the Fluence has??? LOL
I have the 2017 gtline and a 2012. This car is sensational!
I have a Fluence privilege that I purchased in 2015. It currently has 82.000 km. I have no intention of changing or selling it, as I have never had any maintenance problems with it. I have done all the maintenance and I am averaging 8,5 km. In the city and 14 km on the highway. Great car.
I have a manual GT turbo, running at 2000 rpm it does 15 km/L
That is, 80 km/h
I have a Fluence Dynamiquè automatic purchased brand new in 0. It currently has 2012 thousand km driven. Average consumption city/BR: 66/7,5 km/L.
It's high. But the comfort and low maintenance make up for it.
It doesn't justify me putting more than 120k on it to have a 0 km vehicle.
Excellent car!
Mine is also within this average. 2014 with 41.000km.
