MEC launches free online course for teachers who want to master Digital Educational Resources and transform their classes!

The MEC has just launched a free, 100% online course for teachers who want to become experts in educational technology! With official certification, the course teaches how to use Digital Educational Resources to make classes more dynamic and engaging. Don't miss out on this unique training opportunity!

In an increasingly digitalized educational scenario, Training teachers in the use of educational technologies has become essential to ensure more dynamic and efficient teaching.

Aware of this need, the the Ministry of Education (MEC): launched the free online course “Use of Digital Educational Resources”, aimed at educators who wish to integrate digital tools into their pedagogical practices.

MEC course trains teachers to use technology in education

The initiative, promoted by the Secretariat of Basic Education (SEB) and offered through the AVAMEC platform, aims to expand teachers' knowledge of Digital Educational Resources (DER).

The training provides fundamental knowledge to improve teaching methods in the classroom, making teaching more interactive and accessible.

The course includes 1.000 vacancies available, being a valuable opportunity for teachers seeking professional development and new methodologies to engage their students in learning in an innovative way.

Program content addresses digital culture and practical application

The course structure is based on four essential modules:

  • Digital culture and the contemporary world – Introduction to the impact of technology on society and education, addressing fundamental concepts of digital culture.
  • Digital Educational Resources as teaching and learning tools – Presentation of the main digital tools that can be used in the classroom.
  • Possibilities of using RED in Portuguese Language and Mathematics in the early years of Elementary School – Practical application of digital tools in teaching these subjects.
  • Lesson planning supported by Digital Educational Resources – Strategies to incorporate technology into pedagogical planning, aiming to optimize the teaching-learning process.

With 60 hour workload, the course can be completed in a minimum period of 15 days and a maximum of 45 days, allowing flexibility for participants to combine their studies with their professional activities.

Certification recognized by MEC

One of the great differences of the course is the issuance of official certificate by MEC, a document that can be used for progression in the teaching career and professional development.

The certificate proves the educator's ability to use technologies applied to education, being an important differentiator for those who wish to improve their resume.

Furthermore, the training is fully online and self-instructional, which means there is no tutoring or monitoring by mediators.

This way, the teacher can progress through the course at their own pace, respecting the established deadlines.

Importance of digital training for teachers

With the increasing digitalization of education, Mastering educational technologies has become an indispensable skill for today's teachers.

Resources such as interactive platforms, educational videos, educational games and online collaboration tools are increasingly used to improve learning and increase student engagement.

According to experts in the educational field, the use of digital tools in teaching improves students' retention of content, making learning more dynamic and accessible.

Furthermore, the Covid-19 pandemic accelerated the need to adapt to remote teaching, highlighting the importance of trained teachers to use these resources effectively.

In this way, the MEC initiative meets a growing demand for teacher qualification, preparing educators for the challenges of contemporary education.

Benefits of the course for the teaching career

In addition to enabling mastery of technological tools for education, This training can open doors to new professional opportunities.

With the growing demand for teachers who know how to use active and digital methodologies, having this certification can be a differentiator in the job market.

Another relevant point is the possibility of use of the certificate as proof of extracurricular activities in selection processes for public positions, internal promotions in education networks and even in obtaining bonuses for qualifications in some institutions.

The course also encourages the development of new pedagogical approaches, allowing teachers to move away from the traditional teaching model and explore more innovative techniques such as blended learning, gamification and project-based learning.

How to sign up for the free MEC course

Those interested in participating in the training should access the AVAMEC platform and register for free. The start of activities is immediate, allowing teachers to start the course as soon as they register.

Given the need for innovation in teaching, This training represents an excellent opportunity for educators who want to stand out in the market and provide a more enriching learning experience to their students..

Technological training is an essential step to keep up with the new demands of 21st century education and ensure quality teaching.
